Rather than have it clog up the Transfer thread, I'll create a thread to document the performances of the various players we have out on loan this season, namely...

Josh Onomah (on loan to Sheffield Wednesday until 30th June 2019)
Cameron Carter-Vickers (on loan to Swansea City until 30th June 2019)
Marcus Edwards (on loan to SBV Excelsior until 31st May 2019)
Samuel Shashoua (on loan to Atletico Baleares until 31st May 2019)
Conor Ogilvie (on loan to Gillingham until 31st December 2018)

This past weekend Edwards was the only member of the quintet to receive any playing time, a ten minute cameo at the end of Excelsior's 4-2 loss to Den Haag, highlights of which have been provided here

Samuel Shashoua made his Baleares (and, indeed, professional) debut earlier today, coming on with twenty minutes to go in a 2-1 defeat to Ejea, with all three goals being scored before halftime - and that's likely the most information anyone who wasn't actually at the stadium will have

Closer to home, Conor Ogilvie was a member of Gillingham's matchday squad for yesterday's 1-0 loss to Wimbledon, but didn't feature

Weekend update

Marcus Edwards played the full 90 minutes of Excelsior's 2-2 draw against Willem II and gained an assist as Denis Mahmudov made it 2-0 in the 82nd minute
Samuel Shashoua made his full debut for Baleares, playing 56 minutes before being substituted in their 2-1 loss to Sabadell
Josh Onomah made his Sheffield Wednesday debut, coming on in the 68th minute in their 2-2 draw against Cheap Man Utd
Cameron Carter-Vickers made his Swansea debut, coming on in the 68th minute (spooky...) in their 0-0 draw with Forest
Conor Ogilvie was once again an unused substitute, getting a good view of Gillingham's 3-0 loss to Rochdale

Here's a supercut of Edwards vs Willem II

Positives
* Picked up an assist
* Helped out defensively when Willem were in possession
* Appears to be learning that sometimes a two-yard layoff is all you need to do

Negatives
* Positioning needs work, as he played on the right yet kept popping up in the centre or even on the left
* Keeps trying to dribble past six players as soon as he's in sight of goal
* A couple of Taarabtesque dribbles the width of the pitch

Josh Onomah made his first start for Wednesday last night, playing the full 90 minutes (in central midfield, too!) in their 2-1 loss to Nottingham Forest - and, of course, the stattos have been out in full force

71 Touches
88% pass accuracy (43/49)
100% successful dribbles (4/4)
100% Aerials won (1/1)
75% Tackles won (6/8)
2 Interceptions
Dispossessed 3 times
1 foul

The main topic for discussion, however, surely has to be his chinstrap...

  1. Josh Onomah was an unused sub in Wednesday's 2-1 win over Villa
  2. Cameron Carter-Vickers was an unused sub in Swansea's 0-0 draw with Middlesbrough, making him the only Spurs affiliated player not to play for Swansea in this match as Tom Carroll, Wayne Routledge and Kyle Naughton all featured
  3. Connor Ogilvie played 90 minutes of Gillingham's 4-2 loss to Peterborough, lining up alongside ex-Spur Dean Parrett
  4. Marcus Edwards played the full 90 minutes of Excelsior's 3-3 draw against Heerenveen - a match where the main talking point is how Jizz Horncamp scored on his senior Heerenveen debut
  5. Samuel Shashoua was a 76th minute sub in Baleares' 2-2 draw with Peralada

Once again there's an Edwards supercut

Positives
* His dribbles into the area are starting to look more productive
* Some clever little touches to bring his teammates into the game
* Far better positional sense, as he's sticking to his position instead of wandering the pitch looking for the ball
* A couple of well-timed interceptions when on defence

Negatives
* Overruns with the ball far too often
* Several runs into massed Heerenveen defenders, with predictable results
* Far too many occasions where he cuts inside with the ball at his feet...only to pass backwards
* A couple of Townsendesque shots in the general direction of one end of the ground

Josh Onomah was an unused sub in Wednesday's 1-1 draw with Leeds, but he did get a good view of this...
Cameron Carter-Vickers was an unused sub in Swansea's 3-0 win against QPR
Connor Ogilvie wasn't in the squad for Gillingham's 2-2 draw with Shrewsbury
Marcus Edwards started in Excelsior's 1-0 win over VVV Venlo, before being replaced in the 71st minute with ex-Spurs misfit Mounir El Hamdaoui
As for Shashoua, he had a pretty good game in Baleares' 2-1 win against Conquense...

Oh right, midweek games...

Cameron Carter-Vickers was an unused sub in Swansea's 0-0 draw with Wigan
Josh Onomah started in Sheffield Wednesday's match against West Brom, where they were 2-0 up when he was subbed in the 82nd minute - and within five minutes of him going off the score was 2-2, which was the final score

He also got an incredible assist for their opener. Winks would be jealous.

Maybe don't let Reach cut in and shoot from that position, eh lads?

I was speaking with a Wednesday fan today and he's been impressed with him in the last couple of matches.
Playing a deeper role, as I've always felt that he should and performing well, while constantly communicating with the defence.
It's only one bloke's opinion, but it's nice to hear.
Cameron Carter-Vickers was an unused sub in Swansea's 3-2 defeat to Ipswich
Can we just recall him now and be done with it? He may as well play for our reserves or in the cups, than sit on their bench.

Oh yeah, forgot the Spanish third tier wasn't on an international break...

Samuel Shashoua played the full 90 of Baleares' 1-0 win over UE Olot, getting the assist for Nuha Marong's winner before picking up a booking

Meanwhile, in an obvious bid to pad this one out a little, here's Wednesday manager Jos Luhukay talking about Josh Onomah - and don't worry about the link, as it's the Sheffield Star, not the Daily Star, so you're not going to have an epileptic fit from 58 banner ads flashing all at once
