    Yep, he'll be gone tomoz

Struggling as a boss so lets get him in as a defensive coach, if BR's fragile ego can take that

He's just had the dreaded "vote of confidence from the board" as well... only a matter of time now.

Funny that, they are all here letting us know how bad BR is yet we're still above the great Martinez (who turned us down ya know, he had a dream he would manage the Toffee's so he couldnt boss us, that would be below his level) who has smashed their transfer record

Time for a mid season assessment on our players out on loan.

Ibe seems to be adapting well at Derby. Here is what Steve McClaren has to say. Its explains why Ibe needed a loan before being ready for Liverpoo.

On October 18 Derby boss Steve McClaren raved: “He’s one of them that at times can be unplayable. And he’s only 18. Imagine when he grows and matures.”

A month later the former England boss added: “He’s doing his work defensively as well now; his attitude is good.”

Steve McClaren clearly believes the player would be better served staying where he is.

“The boy’s learning, even in the weeks we’ve had him,” he said.

“When he first came we gave Jordon a ball on his own and gave the team the other ball. Now he’s learning to be a team player and developing into that. He’s learning he needs end product to his game.

“We’re developing him for Liverpool and in the meantime to help us win games. Liverpool know the players better than I do and think he needs development which I would totally agree with Brendan. There’s still a long way to go. He’s right at the beginning.

“He’s learning from the very beginning. He’s an impact for us. It’s up to him how good he wants to be and up to Liverpool, but we can just develop him for Liverpool and get good habits into him.

“His all-round game has improved, his defensive responsibilities, his work-rate, his concentration but the biggest thing is becoming a team player.”

    -

Tiago Ilori has been injured for most of his time in France, but his early performances were very promising. He looks like he has the talent, but does he have the fitness?

    -

Joao Texeira started very well at Brighton, scoring a couple in his first few games. He has added some spark to the Brighton but over all it has not been brilliant. Brighton are having a terrible season and it is tough for all in their squad.

    -

Divock Origi started brilliantly at Lille, scoring a few goals and putting in some exciting performances. But Lille's season has gone down hill since and Origi's season has suffered to. Goals have been very hard to come by and a baron goal draught is on going.

    -

Andre Wisdom is enjoying his football again after some video nasties at the start of the season wiped the smile from his face.

And Alan Irvine is convinced the loanee will return to Liverpool a better player than when he arrived in the summer.

“I think overall Andre’s done really well,” said Irvine.

“I think he’s going to go back to Liverpool a much better player for the experience of being here.

“That isn’t saying lets pat everybody who works with him on the back by any means. It’s the fact that he’s had games at this level week in and week out.

“He’s played against Eden Hazard, Alexis Sanchez and Santi Cazorla and those are the difficult games. They’re probably going to give a few people difficult games and he’s done really well so far this season.

“I’m really pleased with him. I think it’s been a really good bit of recruitment by the club.”

Irvine admits Wisdom’s game has come on a bundle after a tricky start to the campaign.

“He’s got used to the way we work. We do a lot of video work with players after games.

“I think probably at the beginning, he thought I’m getting criticised here but he realises it’s constructive criticism and he’s right into it now.

“It’s not a case of showing a whole load of things that are wrong. The best video clips are the ones where you’re saying ‘well done - that’s exactly what we want’.

“You’d much rather be told ‘have a look at this, this is brilliant’ than ‘have a look at this, it wasn’t very good’.

“When you’ve got that kind of feedback going on you’ll find that the player actuallystarts to take charge of it and think ‘I shouldn’t have been there’.

“You’re talking about just two steps at times but that makes all the difference between you being in the right position and the wrong position.”

Wisdom’s positional sense has improved on the back of in-depth video analysis.

“It’s not black and white. Probably the best analogy I can give is I watch young centre backs and they’re always at a stretch.

“They’re always having that last ditch slide tackle where all the crowd get up and go isn’t that fantastic, what a player he is. Then you’ve got this older guy standing beside him who never gets his shorts dirty because he stands in the right place! We had that for years with Joseph Yobo and then David Weir and Alan Stubbs.

“Joseph came off and his shorts were absolutely filthy and he was rapid and Stubbsy and David Weir couldn’t run and they were never mucky.

“It was just they stood in the right places. So these little details that you pick up through the games and through the video work and so on make you become a much better defender.

“So that’s why I feel he’ll go back to Liverpool a much better player than he would have been if he hadn’t gone on loan.”

    -

Luis Alberto has grabbed 2 goals in 9 league games for Malaga, one was a penalty. But I'm afraid that is all I have.

I assume the bit about Ibe not being a team player when he arrived. It would explain Ibes lack of chances for us.

    -

I forgot Coates and couldnt be bothered with Aspas btw. Apparently Coates is improving nicely at Sunderland under Poyet.

Surely its natural enough though for a youngster to have to learn the responsibilities of being a team player,he's just a kid after all

It should be being nailed in to them by coaches from day one. Coaching youth is about building good ethics and habbits as much as skills.

had to give him one ball and our team another.... that may just refer to a selfish little twat who won't pass it of course but one feels it does refer to state of play at u21 level.

Some names to add to this thread:

Three of Liverpool FC's youth prospects have joined Cheltenham Town on a one-month loan.

Full back Kevin Stewart, centre back Lloyd Jones and midfielder Jack Dunn have all joined to the League Two club and go straight into the squad for Cheltenham's away game at Oxford on Saturday.

Robins manager Paul Buckle revealed his relationship with Reds Academy director Alex Inglethorpe helped seal the deal for the trio.

“Bringing in players of this calibre is a real coup for Cheltenham Town,” said Buckle.

“I have a good relationship with Liverpool’s academy director Alex Inglethorpe, having played with him at Exeter City and taken players off him on loan when he was working at Tottenham.

“I know how well he develops players and I spent three days up in Liverpool looking at their Under-21 squad recently.

“I asked about the availability of these three lads and it’s fantastic that they were all willing to come down. Liverpool and Alex have been great."

Teixeira's first goal (scored two) last night was superb... beats several defenders and scores from range.
