**** me if Slade left a striker on the bench and played our form full back upfront (a position he's never played anywhere near at senior level) he'd be absolutely slated by the fans and the press! Lets see what tonight brings, we'll be at a serious disadvantage if we've lost Ralls, Mason and KWJ. Ralls is very important in the way our formation works. Probably the best side in the league are not the ideal visitors whilst suffering a mini injury crisis. The 0-0 at Preston was disappointing, sounds like we had a few chances to nick it but didn't. Reading the posts on here it's like we've spent the last 2 weeks getting battered rather than an international break. Away from home is always difficult in this league, we should have got nothing at Brighton, but could easily have got 3 at Preston. We actually ended up with 2 points and remained unbeaten. We've got a couple of home games in a row which despite the quality of tonight's opponent we should be looking to accrue some decent points from. If we can get 4 or 6 from the 2 games I'd guess we'll be back in the playoff positions. Is that really a manager sacking situation?
Love it Stevo - that's m'boy!............. Incidentally, I'm getting more and more to appreciate the international break - at least it prevents us watching the current **** on the pitch from our club. If you're enjoying it the best of luck to you, but I've had it for now. Missed the Charlton game through being away and was seriously thinking about giving tonight a miss voluntarily, but I'll be there tonight as usual. If we play really well and lose I won't mind, but if we get much more of the apathetic stuff served up by Slade and his charges for much longer I wont' be, and I've no doubt a few more as well will join the exodus. The crowds are so poor at the moment and that is mainly down to the football being offered up. It isn't rocket science - it's about entertainment as much as results.
I agree. Didn't travel to Brighton or Preston. Last 2 games I've watched were a very good performance against Hull without the result, then a win v Charlton that could have been about 6-3 to us, but ended with us winning anyway. If anyone can tell me that Charlton game was dull then we need to agree to disagree. 6000 st holders ****ed off after last year. That's their decision and I'd never tell anyone how they should spend their hard earned. Based on last year I questioned my own desire to renew. What I've seen since is progress, we're still not there by any means, but I said a side progressing and playing football on the deck would have my support. We've got that. Where's Hilts? He'll back me up
Have to say, not looking forward to it tonight, just hoping I've picked a good fixture for my debut this season pals !
Masky pal, were you there for the same fixture last season? If you were and we get the same sort of performance and result there'll be more than just moans on here. Like I said, I can stand being beaten by superior sides when we at least try to compete with them, but we're getting nothing like the performances we are entitled to expect. A point each at Preston and Brighton seems to be Valhalla for some, but in truth they were achieved more on luck than by right. Brighton should have clobbered us and they only have themselves to blame, whereas that first half performance at Preston was bad enough to cry over. Glass half empty time again lads.........
No Sparkey pal, but I saw the Norwich game a few days earlier, when Macheda was within a winky wannk of giving us a 3-0 lead, just after half time. I often wonder what would have happened if he had, perhaps Ole would be a much sought after manager now, and we would be beating off rivals eh? Incidently chum, you seem to constantly call me pal...taking the piss or what?
It's just a reference to the old dog food you're on - you know the one that "prolongs active life"............
Is City's record low crowd anything to do with Masky announcing he would be there...............................?
