Papa Bouba Diop to Brum, Reo Coker to the tractor boys a and Pennant to Wolves.

Desperation signings or good business? I'm glad we're largely out of that market. A defender or two if injuries strike, but loaning big names on big wages I hope are a thing of the past.

Yes, all of those will cost a few bob although Wolves are cash rich at present and can easily afford it.

With their experience they could be good short term business for the borrowing clubs and Reo Coker and Pennant, if they have the right attitude, will see it as an opportunity to put themselves in the shop window for Prem clubs in January. As for PBD, I would reserve judgement on him as he is 34 and coming to the end of his career. Probably looking for a final pay day.

I guess Malky is holding off loans and hoping we have no defensive injuries/suspensions before the next window. We should make more signings in January to ensure we are fully equiped for the final push.

Seeing as Maynard is out for the season I wouldnt mind Kenwynne-Jones or Cameron Jerome on loan.

Dont know if they are available though.

Im sure there will be activity in the market if we need it. We need players to improve the starting 11 though.(not just cover players). No point in bringing in players to sit on the bench. Weve loads of quality not playing as it is.

Are the 11 good enough to make top 2.

Minus Bellamy(wont play all the games) and Maynard I think we will come up just short. Top 4 maybe.

Hope im wrong.

However good business in January and we can grab a auto place.

Agree with Jones but not Jerome, not sure he'd be the type of character we need. Some cover at the back would be nice but any loanee would expect to play not come in as back up. I don't think we will see any loanees come in.

Don't you have to have no back-up in a particular position in order to get an emergency loan? Like your main keeper is injured and you only have 1 replacement, so he is playing and you can get an emergency loanee as a back up?
That is why they are only for certain lengths of time, depending on the injury to the player replaced, and the period can't be extended.
But I'm sure there are ways for the rules to be bent. There always is.

I used to think that was the rule but it doesn't seem to be the case. Season long loans can be set up in the transfer window or 90 day loans in the loan windon (I think).

It all seems a bit grey and you do see 'emergency' loans at odd times and for positions you'd think a team had cover for.

Reo Coker is unattached so signed for the tractor boys on a short term contract until Jan. He will be highly motivated to get that prem move he believes he deserves in Jan. We didn't need another centre mid but it's a great bit of business and I'm surprised he ended up as low down the league as Ipswich are battling. Pennant will be a very good player at this level if he can manage to stop being such a massive cock for a couple of weeks and let his talent do the talking instead.

I don't see us currently needing any loans and will be very surprised if mm does anything before jan.

Aren't the 90 day loans just called emergency loans? I don't believe you need to prove it is an actual emergency....

So they're more 'we need a bit more talent in the squad' loans rather than 'emergency' loans. Why don't they just call them loans if that is what they are.

Is it just me or is it a funny coincidence that reo Coker signs for the tractor toys just after Bellers left Ipswich with us

Andy, they've been at each other the past few years. Bellamy publically took the piss out of him and it's never died down between them
