Good to see the club bringing in new talent, but with the majority being loan signings are we in danger of repeating last seasons mistakes?
I'm not sure about our latest loan signing, Lee Cox from S*indon but the club have made it clear that they want long term loan signings due to our current injury list (Dubes, Whing, Leven and Davis). Surely this is a better policy than signing a load of old tosh on 2/3 year contracts that we have done in the past or even the desperate loan signings at the end of last season (Morgan, Rendell, Montano). In my opinion our squad is looking pretty good with decent competition in every position.
Not sure Northampton and Bradford are up to a top seven spot Richmond, but then again they are overdue a good season. Southend and the Gills should be up there again but not sure Cheltenham and Torquay can repeat last seasons spots. A surprise could come in the form of Port Vale or York City. Agree that Fleetwood, Rotherham and Rovers should be in and around the automatic places. As for us it may be that we reverse last season and have a poor start due to injuries and have a decent finish when we start to get key players fit again.
Only time will tell Didders but considering I haven't even mentioned the 4 relegated sides who should be in and around the play-offs it shows what a tough division it'll be.
I guess I forgot about the four relegated sides as only one of last season's lot did anything. Last time with Plymouth and Rovers being bigger names and the addition of playing our biggest rivals again the relegated lot were on my radar. Although Wycombe are our closest team they do not stir up the same level of passion in the fans as a trip down the 420. Still it could be one of those seasons where it is so tight that a win takes you up several places and defeat drops you out of it. Let's hope injuries are few this time and we are involved in the mix.
