just seen the red card on the league show... Referee got it correct, it was for a kickout on matt ingram. However theres no doubt matt has made a meal of it, but perhaps that was what was needed in order for the referee to notice the offence
I can understand why, but if their player is going to kick out he leaves himself vulnerable to this sort of reaction. You don't often see a keeper making a meal of a challenge though, and for all we know maybe that had been happening all game but the ref refused to notice
If I was Gaz, I would be pissed off at that manager's reaction on TV, basically accusing Ingram of diving. I would announce that Ingram is doubtful for Tuesday's game due to bruising of his ankle and awaits a fitness test.
Am I confident???? Listen jose I'm an Argyle supporter. Being that and confident of anything is not something that goes together easily. Can I spead the word your keeper is a diver or is his ankle really bruised......(no I haven't watched it)
I think to be categorised a diver one has to dive more than once. I don't recall Ingram ever diving, apart from when making spectacular saves.
What he hasn't ever staggered right or left a wee bit?? They all seem to do it these days don't they. I get incensed on one hand when I see it but on the other have to laugh at the antics sometimes. Some of the falling down stuff really is comical but then the gets me mad bit comes when the Ref actually gives them something for it which isn't a score card of 7.5. You can't tell me they don't spend time in training doing it because some have it off to a fine art. Tuesday night should be interesting. Both of ours come off the back of a win this Saturday but a bit of a dismal run before. I think a lot of ours would settle for a point right now even if wishing for the 3. We have a bit of a mountain to climb to get back up amongst it but the way results are going it could happen. How we could get 3 points from 21 and only be 4 points outside the playoff positions I'll never know. Your team is safe now whatever happens so it won;t be a repeat of last season. You can relax into the closing stages. I'll bet that not many, even your own supporters, thought to have a punt on promotion this season did they.
No. Post at the start of the season .................. I didn't think 14/1 was good value for promotion . We're now 8/13 for promotion. Could have laid them off at Evs and made a packet either way.
If 14/1 was at the start of the season the it wasn't good value Ron. We had an average season and finished 10th last time and I wouldn't have thought that was value for Argyle either. To be fair even given the positions so far I'm not sure 8/13 is a proper assessment odds wise but the bookies never give much away. If it was maybe 3/1 ish then it might be worth a go but not at odds on with all that can go wrong. If you read all the pundit write ups Portsmouth were everyones favourite to go up and look at them now. I don't think many from there believed it though. Some of the teams that missed out last time are beginning to rise up the ranks now after what were dodgy starts for many. Should be interesting from here on in.
shrewsbury are still very much the favourites looking around - however it now seems to have been identified as a 4 horse race between us shews luton and burton...
I doubt very much that 3 from that 4 will occupy the auto places. I say that not out of disrespect for any of them but from experience of watching one or more implode and at least one making a late run on the rails from the rest. Take Northampton as an example. Not so long ago they were down there scrapping for a win. They now have 40 points and results are clicking into place. It's never over till it's over as they say.
im not ruling out someone else making a charge, more looking at how the bookies appear to have labelled it as a 4 horse race. Northampton might actually be a good shout, and when these sides come from no where they quite often win the play-offs
Bookies do exactly what it says on the tin which is to make a book that is within their own interests. Hence why they all have expensive holidays on the rest of us and drive posh cars. I gave up giving them money a long while ago. Anyway best of luck to Wycombe after tomorrow of course and I hope your season ends well.
Cheers SG. Best of luck to you also. We both have good defences so it could be tight. Our problem at present is that we can't score. If we can keep a clean sheet we either draw 0-0 or win 1-0. If we concede we're up **** creek.
