Loach Dropped?

You never know H It may well fire him up we will see his fighting spirit now for sure! !st league game missed since Nov 2008 it is kinda due a rest!
 
However if the defence were giving him looks as Frenchie was suggesting , then maybe it is worth having a look at Gilmarten while we still have a minimal amount of time to experiment! Just trying to figure some logic in the decision! easier to change the keeper than the whole defence unit!if there is a bit of discord there!
 
If you ask me, Gilmartin looked shaky, but i suspect you'll see for yourselves on Saturday, coz he didn't get much to do tonight, and i'm certain he'll have a lot more to contend with at the weekend!
 
The minimum Loach needed was a wake up call,I think he deserved to be dropped on the strength of the number of mistakes he has made over a number of games.
He does not take control of his area,at least Gilmartin came for balls tonight,but I still hold my final decision on him.....Another thought, what's wrong with Jonathan Bond....?

He's out on loan vicarage...
 
To put a positive spin on it, drop him for a easy'ish game sit him out on the bench to fire him back up so he grafts and shows he has sorted his confidence and put him back out away to a difficult and free scoring Saints on Saturday.

Or maybe I am still too drunk on the three points last night.....
 
The dropping of Loach seems to indicate he was more responsible for the howler on Saturday than some people realise. I initially thought that Tiny had got a call and allowed the ball over his head. Based on Loach doing little else wrong on Saturday and his subsequent dropping, I can only conclude it was from Loach, especially the post goal looks he was getting. If so then I am behind the change, it's one too many poor decisions from Loach which have directly lead to goals.

i can't see how he'll be played again on Saturday. Gilmartin wasn't exactly tested last night and to give him just one game seems harsh...i imagine he'll get a few...which is worrying!
 
Loach has certainly looked nervous for a while and communication with his defence and coming to collect the ball are obvious weaknesses BUT will dropping him make any difference to that? Gilmartin does look any more confident but I suppose we reserve judgement until he plays against a side which applies at least a bit of pressure.

He looked very nervous and shaky last night...i dread to think how he'll be against Southampton...will we risk him?
 
It's such an obvious change, I cannot see anyone is surprised. It's clear that the defence has little confidence in him and the body language between them has been going downhill for a long time - I would imagine some harsh words were said in the changing room last saturday and that edged SD's decision.
