Its his opinion, not utter rubbish, you'r a mod, a pathetic one who obviously canot handle differing opinions.

They guy was told he was first choice keeper when being signed and now he's 2nd to and old fart, year he's pissed off and so he should be

Cheers BBF, I'm well unhappy with Spurf's rubbish comment, and for sure he is speaking rubbish, and has let himself down big-time.
The idea that the captain of France should be 2nd choice to a 41 year old keeper is frankly laughable.

Whenever certain Arsenal fans side with you then as a Spurs fan you must question your own opinions..try it it works for those Spurs fans that have managed to twist this article into another AVB witch hunt as oppose to what Notso intended in the OP which was something along the lines of 'shutup Lioris and sort it out behind closed doors' if what is being reported is true.

I din't question them, I question you and NSS if you are blaming Lloris. The fault lies with aVB who made a very stupid, undermining comment about the captain of France.

Ignoring COYG's attempts at a contribution (if regurgitating rumours heard on Talksport count as a contribution...), the fact is you don't just chuck a goalkeeper into the mix at the first opportunity. There's a number of goalkeeperrs who had iffy starts at their new clubs - De Gea, Gomes, Lehmann, Tim Howard, Richard Wright, David James, Brad Friedel, Jerzy Dudek - because they went straight into competitive football without having time to bed in. Fridel, Howard and James had to leave Liverpool/Man Utd/Liverpool in order to salvage their reputations...whilst Lehmann was also a clanger merchant at Milan and Dortmund, which implies Arsenal's scout in Germany is phoning it in.

Look at Tim Krul - he was on the books at Newcastle for five years before stepping up and becoming their first choice keeper, whilst it was a couple of seasons before Szczesny was first-choice at Arsenal.

He's the captain of France and a keeper rated far higher than Brad, you stick him in ASAP. The idea he might wait till January is an absolute insult to his professional integrity.

HBIC, all valid points but Lloris won't see it this way, so AVB has to keep him happy, as if AVB wants to be a success, he has to learn how to get players on side and create a happy squad, as if the players aren't happy then he won't be here very long.

I wasn't impressed with AVB talking to the press, it wasn't very tactile, especially considering Lloris made a big move away from France, and lets not forget he is widely considered to be one of the best keepers in the world, we're lucky to have got him for the price we did.

AVB should have kept this all in-house, sat down with Friedel and Lloris and explained the situation, not be talking to the press before Lloris has even had a chance to get to know the squad.

well said Boss, I can't believe the anti-Lloris pro AVB nonsense being written on here.

Ghoddle10 you are digging a hole for yourself and using the support of a WUM to back your argument does not help your cause.

I am very happy to let others judge my comments. <ok>

Having said that pursuing this disagreement will not be very productive I think we should both leave it and move on.

Can't help but think, Ghoddle10, that you're following the tabloids' rhetoric too slavishly. This is not an AVB v Lloris situation. It's more a Spurs v trouble-making journalists situation.

I thought AVB's comments were ill-advised but that's all. It's the papers that will turn them into a story. Really AVB was possibly just saying that every player has to earn their place. I know I thought "What an ill-advised thing to say" when I read AVB's quote but I don't think we have to turn the whole thing into a "Who's side you on - AVB or Lloris?" situation. It's almost certainly just a bad choice of words on AVB's (and possibly now Lloris's) part.

And after all, let's judge AVB by what he actually does regarding Lloris rather than what he says in the papers. One recent manager of ours came over rather poorly in the media now and again yet delivered us the best results and football in decades...

Lloris is doing us a massive favour, so he isn't mistaken about that. How we got the French captain to sign for us I don't know, but he's right up there with Bale as a world-rated star.

Lloris moved to Spurs because he wanted to. He wanted to because he wanted to play in the Premier League for a good club and no doubt got a payrise in the process. He has no reason to want to do Spurs a favour by joining us so why on Earth would you say that he is?

I'm not anti-Lloris and I don't expect the guy to be happy if he gets put on the bench but if it's true and he's gone to the press expressing his dismay at not immediately walking straight into the team then he's showing a lack of respect to his manager and teammates. It's still quite a big 'if' though and far from as big of a deal as the media might portray.

Places should be on merit and Lloris has more merit than Brad. I't's frankly an insult to him to expect him to have to prove he's number one. I suspect he's already regretting joining us, with a manager like AVb and so many unsupportive fans, if this forum is anything to go by.

GH10 Think you misunderstand(or maybe not). Does the term earning your place not mean anything anymore, Brad is playing well and he admits his place will be under scrutiny, but to give in because of a media report IS insulting.
In any team the incumbent has to be given the benefit. Look at De Gea, he was Spain's next best thing- SAF threw him in immediately and he crumbled. He did not perform until much later in the season. We can't take a risk with Lloris by just saying go on play see how you go -any chance we have to be doing anything this season my hinge on it.

But didn't we do that to Gomes with Brad, he turned up as a back up and Harry slammed him straight into the first team?

Personally I think that given Brad's current form he deserves to keep his place but like all things it's subject to form. For a keeper I believe one of the most important aspects is having command and respect over your back four. That takes time not least of which is the guy unpacking his bag and saying hello to his new teammates. I would hope that we see Lloris starting by the end of October being allowed to at least find his feet a little.

2 things here:
1 - Gomes was a joker
2 - Gomes never recovered from being so unceremoniously dropped. So it probably was a poor decision despite Gomes being a joker. I have no doubt Brad is a big enough guy to handle being dropped better than Gomes but why risk it after Brad's last performance?

Er, it matters BIG TIME that he's captain of France, it's a good indicator of what he is, a top class goalkeeper

AVB's comment is disrespectful to Lloris and I'd far rather AVB bugger off back to Prtugal, than him bring him in a top class international player and start ****ing him about

Lloris is clearly a better choice IN THIS League than 'stay on your line' Brad, and I will be massively pissed off with AVB if Lloris isn't No.1 choice either by Reading or very soon thereafter.

If you say so, i don't agree though. By the same logic we should fear Downing because he plays for England. Do you fear Downing?

Like i said. This has probably been blown out of all proportion and proably misinterpreted/translated. However, if Lloris isn't willing to fight for his place and wishes to be No1 regardless of personnel or performance then we are better off selling him.

How silly are some of you going to feel if Lloris starts against Reading on Sunday. Talk about over reacting.

Any Spurs fan that takes the side of the media over our manager really needs to take a long hard look in the mirror.

I'm not sure I get what you mean. Gomes was a joker and not good enough so it was right to drop him, but we probably shouldn't have because he wasn't mentally tough to cope with it? So what should we have done drop him or not? I was only highlighting that the incumbent does not and should not always have the benefit as was suggested, as IMHO I thought it was right to go with Brad over Gomes.

I never said that we should given Brad's form.

What i meant is that at the time Gomes was costing us points. Currently Brad is winning us points. In a way Harry was right to bring in Brad because he was costing us points. But on the other hand Gomes never recovered.
Why risk Brad's confidence when he is playing well when there is a ready-made excuse of "you are new and need to adjust" for not playing Lloris.

I never said that we should given Brad's form.
No, i know you didn't :)

I think we are both agreeing with each other tbh

I'm not not following the tabloid's comments too slavishly at all, I'm irritated at AVB and disappointed at the lack of support for Lloris.

Yep and I disagree with you, and think you are being disrespectful to Lloris. I think we'd be better off getting rid of AVB than Lloris.

If that's aimed at me, I've taken a long hard look and am happy with what I see, and I'm not happy with AVB over this and other matters beside.
