From what I had viewed that is not necessarily true. Bobby Reid presses and often other players press/screen.

A forward can be the trigger for the team to press, not the forward pressing as they will block passing land e.g. Keeper and switch - City do employ this method.

Abraham and others certainly could do this. A benefit is the CF does not expend energy chasing lost causes, and also becomes problematic to mark as they will frequently occupy inactive offside positions, leaving defenders with decisions they may not want to make - Abraham used similar as an attacking ploy by occupying space when full backs pushed up.

I tend to agree, and have stated so before, however Bobby has put away a few and nobody knows what our goal could be if we had milan or Fammy available

RR, it is really difficult for me to comment on your posts without coming across as really harsh, and I really don't mean to! But you seem to have a perception of players and transfer windows for us that is unrealistic, these kids need time to settle down, you are writing them off before they have even begun.

Were you as good at your current job within 1 or 2 years of starting it as you are now?

To answer your question, I agree with Rob, he's decent (sometimes) off the bench, it was funny as to take him off Rovers for nothing. but Bobby is doing an unbelievable job for a lad who has never played in that position before, his stats are up there with the best this season. Give him some credit, instead of so much negativity all the time.

I have given Bobby Reid great credit this year due to his improvement, plus he was also being given a new challenge up front on his own he done a cracking job.
I just don't see this position best suited to him.

MT is more natural in the position,i think with the right man alongside him he would excel.

Also MT is carrying a hernia issue at present which is causing him problems, because of the shortage of strikers he held the operation off.

Can't work out your logic mate. Last year in midfield you said he wasn't good enough and needs moving on. Now as a striker he is one of the top scorers in the league and has 14 goals in all competitions. Yet you think he needs moving back to midfield as that's his best position :emoticon-0138-think

Not sure about Duric tbh, the problem is we just seem to go long when he’s on the pitch.
The last time we were in this position we also needed a striker, SL and or GJ didn’t take a gamble in a proven goal scorer and instead got Dele Adegoaless and we dropped from the autos to the play offs. Don’t make the same mistake as your old man LJ!!

Rob he was nowhere near the player he is this year, same with Joe Bryan, both have changed beyond recognition this year. But Reid ain't no striker, needs to sit in behind them.

Maybe he's better this year because he's playing as a striker? The stats certainly indicated so. He's joint-3rd top scorer in the Championship, you don't get much better than that.

This is a chicken and an egg .. with a experienced striker in his position all season. assuming he never played would our frontman have 10 or more goals?
would a 3-4 or 4-3 be an option with Reid +other and a striker == 3-4-2-1 / 4-3-2-1. We are accumulating a wealth of talent but not really using it!
OUR SQUAD SHOULD BE no more than 26 all positions covered and 4 extras

I see what you're saying but I'm referring to Reid performance specifically and not the whole team. Even if other strikers might have scored more in a similar position, no one can deny that his goal return so far this season is exceptional.

Joe Bryan has made a natural progression to his game that has come through with experience and that anybody with half a footballing brain would have known he was capable of achieving. Bobby Reid has changed from a bit part midfield player to a forward that has given headaches to Premier League defenders

I do think Reid has been exceptional this season, the fact that he has transformed from a decent midfield player to then playing up front with a decent goal tally.
Having said that, I have to agree with RR (where's Redprintts tablets!) I don't think he's an out and out striker. I also don't think Taylor is good enough at this level.
Duric I'm not yet convinced and Diedhiou IMO is still finding his feet, so I do think we are short in that department. Let's hope LJ can wave his magic wand and bring someone decent, even if it is on loan until the end of the season..

Even half a brain rule’s RR out <laugh>

If all the village idiots in Britain moved into one village, RR would still be the village idiot!

Fair play he keeps this board alive so top kudos to you RR

Anyway Diedhiou is back tonight so hopefully part of the problem is now solved.
