I agree we don't want a 'billy big b0ll0cks' joining but a big, strong, confident, energetic 'bastard' up front would surely do us a favour , no 'prima donna', just a battering ram.

Everybody is forgetting with Abraham last season we had to change the way the team played. This season we’ve gone very high line and in your face way which is not Abraham suited.

Any highly rated forward is only going to be known as he’s playing well for his current team so we would be paying high dollar to take him away. As teams at the moment are either fighting off relegation or going for promotion.

As to saying we won’t get a better chance! How do you know? No one knows the future, I thought we are creating a squad for the future at the moment not quick fixing things anymore. If you do know for certain that we won’t get a better chance, can you tell me the lottery numbers please.

Life is a gamble, you make your own luck, you make your own decisions and take your own chances, if you sit back and and let others dictate or lead, you just become a remoaner but that's another discussion..:emoticon-0105-wink:

Seriously, the best PLAYER is not always the best option.
Even at the poxy level I played at, it was better to have a group of lads playing for each other than a billy big bollocks upsetting the dressing room.
I couldn’t play with BBBs. I ended up hitting them.
That ended my microscopic footballing career I suppose - I deal with big egos by smacking them (Not literally - we’ll, only once - mainly verbally). Not always a popular tact and not popular with the manager who got the BBB player in.

Tammy Abraham was no BBB but he was right up there, leading our team, he was big, strong, confident, energetic and a goal scorer.

I am right on LJ's side about team ethic and spirit but what is the difference between a big, tough spirited, determined defender and a big tough spirited, determined striker.

LJ and his coaches can handle it believe me.

I'm sure if we can find someone in the mould you suggest , both for a reasonable outlay , and within our wage structure, I'm sure we'd take it .
However if one or other of these criteria isn't met then what? Do we stick or twist , that's the question .

I would suggest some fans need to study the attached link and ask yourself some questions.

Like, Why Hugill for £12m when we have Bobby for nothing?

    http://www.bbc.co.uk/sport/football/championship/top-scorers

Are the options being touted on here really better?

Do we change the style of our play that is being noted and highly regarded among the nations leading pundits just because of what amounts to a poor 3 game (league run)?

Red Robin.. I notice the City fans have a song about you, they it at sing away games .. it goes "You're support is ****ing ****"

That is why Steve Lansdown trusts, finances and employs Mark Ashton and Lee Johnson & crew.

I've got to say I think those guys have all got something up their sleeve, they are all very canny, I hope I'm not wrong.

Ahhh right shall be there Friday night in person with the other 800 fans that will make the journey.
We have a massive chance,I hope the club don’t throw it away.At present we require a prolific goal scorer stick or twist that is down to SL.

Lose we go 8 points behind Derby, win we claw them back too two.

Do you think we will get this prolific striker in by Friday night?

You're very good at spending other peoples millions aren't you.

We are the championships current joint 3rd top scorers sitting only behind Wolves and Derby, you suggested Jordan Hugill at £10m if I recall correctly, A man who's stats are way behind Bobbys and is a cheating diver to boot.

Too many play Football manager Banksy and think these prolific strikers are chosen from a random list or maybe pick them up on Ebay cheap..."oh i'll have that one" !. Also thinking that who ever we get will automatically start scoring for fun.......would be nice....but isn't gonna happen!!

But RR don’t like Bobby, he even ran a pole to say Taylor was better.

I wouldn’t be surprised if we do sign Huggle but I wouldn’t show my hand to Preston too early as they will want to get into bartering. Come end of next week, they will be looking off-load as he will become a free agent after this window.

I will still say Taylor is a more natural striker,I think Bobby is better in behind the strikers Rod.

However as said in previous Bobby has done a great job up there on his own[He is not a striker,he misses far too many chances.

Taylor with Fammy or Duric,or another big man will be very interesting.

No team line up will ever satisfy your ever demanding need for more players.

To anyone with a modicum of sense of football can see Taylor is struggling at this level.

I thought that sounded daft as well so had a little look on Google. Seems the site is wrong, his contract expires end of next season.

So do you think Taylor has been given a chance playing in the right position, alongside the right player.

Genuinely interested in your opinion on this.

For me he had a chance early doors alongside Duric and looked very good. Then injuries occurred and the team was changed.

I don't think Taylor is ever going to be a first 11 player but as a 300k option off the bench who can influence a game I'd definitely say it's worthwhile having him in the squad. I'd say he might be more suited to an attacking mid position than striker though.

I never thought for a moment you did, I was just pointing out that we managed to get a big man up front, who was a team player and could compliment our style of play.

By God did he do well for us.
