If you are going to look at spending don't you have to look at relative spending? LJ may have spent more than any other manager, but has any other BCFC manager worked in a league that opposition clubs have spent £10-£15M on a striker, didn't Wolves spend £18M on a midfielder while in the same league - let alone some of the fees paid by teams in prem and then relegated. By the argument BCFC are spending more than they ever have in the past ,ost Championship teams should win the league and every team in prem shoukd win the league - as all are spending more than in the past.
Remember going to Rochdale when Cotterill was in charge and Citys bench cost more than their squad and thinking City will win the league. That that was down to Steve Lansdowns money but the way the team tore the division a new was down to Steve Cotterill. Think the only time City went up and it was down to solely to who as in charge was Cooper and City not having a ;pot to piss in.
I do not understand your post. Burton should win the league? I did make some posts regarding relative spending last season, and backed them up with detail v income. City were doing very poorly for the resource spent. I have not said they are not. Clubs obviously do not run money aside. That is not meant to be rude. Football is high finance and fine margins. The fine margins the Manger affects are enormously important but the consistent driver of success is financial.
