Absolutely agree, he's got a flaw and that's pace, so when he's got two slow cbs behind him and sometimes a fairly pedestrian midfield it really doesn't help.

Joelinton breaks up things around him which buys him a few seconds here and there, but pace around him is almost no existent.

It's amazing that some fans jump right on our best players backs when the side isn't ticking, rather than look at the bigger picture regarding what's going on around them. Are we playing to his strengths? No are there the right players around him? No.

I also don't think Gordon should be on the right and willock isn't a left winger, so it really just wasnt a functional team selection last night. It was a game of passy, but they were toothless in attack and hopeless off the ball the second they lost it. They didn't have any real threat even from set pieces and Jesus they can't even take a throw in right now. Nick Pope can't be used by the side, he loses possession most times they have to and he's not able to make saves since his injury.

 

Apart from that we’re doing well lol. I think Gordon more or less had a free role last night but it didn’t work. I think he’s best on the wing and can play well RW but left is where he’s best. I actually think Willock’s best place is LW. He doesn’t seem to do anything in midfield. The whole team is missing a Joelinton. Wilson on another day could have scored maybe two but he’s far from his best days. Dubs should still be in goal. I can’t say I blamed him for any of the goals at Man City albeit he maybe could have done a bit better but easy to say from an armchair. He’s decent with his feet and was a big part of our good run. Pope is woeful with his feet and currently not doing well with saves. We clearly need a top keeper. Murphy is doing a really decent job and gets far more stick than he deserves but we need better than decent to really challenge the top.
It comes back to money unfortunately and is frustratingly slow getting anywhere with that.

 

Playing Gordon at RW is the equivalent of taking a race car and trying to shove a car seat in it and use it for the weekly shopping.

You will complain that it doesn't have enough space for the seat and its boot isn't big enough, but you're using it completely wrong.

We have tried this **** now many times and it never works, so Howe I believe in addition to clearly being on the spectrum seems to have lapses in memory

Anyone who watched Leicester simply knows that Barnes was never a good signing. He showed us the bare minimum and we signed him for top dollar

His one and only ability is if in top form the ability to curve in a shot from the left. If he can't do that he cannot play.

 

Yeah the money spent is never all on the pitch with this manager. He should be able to at least get it all on there for 15 minutes maybe once in a while.

The subs he makes drive me insane... He's definitely not great in this area.

 

You think Gordon can’t play RW (albeit not where he was playing last night) LW isn’t his best position? Willock who’s only decent game recently was LW (albeit in the Cup v League 1) and has done nothing for ages isn’t best at LW? Wilson didn’t have chances to score last night? Wilson isn’t past his best days? Murphy isn’t doing ok? We don’t need better than ok there? Dubs shouldn’t be in goal still? We don’t need Joelinton back? Explain

 

He's not very good anywhere other than left wing and I'm saying get players in their best position. Willock over his career has had more good games in his position, I'm not judging one game. The side created about 2 opportunities that's poor.

The post you disagreed with I already pointed out why we need Joelinton.

I agree on dubs.

We can surely just disagree on everything else and move on.

 

Aside from Barnes who everyone is slating anyway who else have we spent big money on that wasn’t on the pitch last night?
It’s hard to put on great subs when you’ve got nothing great on the bench.
