Of course they do, pal. Get rid of Torres, a world cup winning striker and replace him with a pit pony.

Spurs, on the other hand, are fighting to keep their best players (having won round one by singing the likes of Bale, Dawson, Lennon, Modric, THudd and VDV on long contracts), and are stuck with slumming it and going for new signings like Leandro, the most exciting young Striker to come out of Brazil for a decade.

Yeah, of course your owners are showing more ambition than Spurs <ok>

I think you're wrong there, some of these players would come and play for us as they can see future potential. We are also still a massive club and are well respected on the European/World stage. I don't think FSG/KK will waste their money on a load of average English playeres as you put it.

The problem is you're not going to sign any of those players.'Arry is planning to turn Spurs into his old West Ham team,Modric is off to Inter,Bale is going to City...to sit on the bench. And then,he's going to sign Joe Cole,Michael Carrick and Bobby Zamora and Scott Parker.

Getting rid of a player that doesn't want to play for you and getting £50M in the process was a stroke of genius. You really are a proper nob.

The OP has a point - When City were outside the CL spots they were, apart from Silva and Yaya Toure, bringing in players that you would consider to be the "best of the rest" in the transfer Market. e.g Dzeko, Ballotelli and Kolarov weren't exactly linked with Barcelona or Real Madrid.

Liverpool have so far signed Suarez to go into the bracket of Silva and Yaya Toure, but we would be predominantly looking at players that the top teams may decide to overlook fearing that they aren't worth the risk, basically following Arsenal's transfer policy of gambling on unproven young talent, placing an emphasis on how much game time said players would get with us as well as future potential, as a means to beat off competition.

Torres made no contribution to Spain winning the world cup. He was dreadful through the whole tournament. It has been a long time since Torres hit decent for for Liverpool, and he has been worse at Chelsea. I know your only saying this to wind us up, but Liverpool and Torres had to part company, and Liverpool have been better since he has gone.

What about Spurs though, they had Darren Bent, most Premier Leagues most consistent English striker. Always among the leading goal scorers at every single club he has played for. Yet Spurs rejected him. He is better than your entire strike force now and you should be feeling very embarrassed. Bent's been a more consistent goal scorer than Torres.
