I think you'll win I really do. Not because you have a better team or better players, but because our team is so ridiculously mentally fragile and weak, there's absolutely no way our lot will be able to deal with the build up to the game and the pressure, and then the atmosphere in the Liberty. There's just no why, especially if all the usual kids play. It'll be similar to the League Cup at Anfield but this time we'll have our strongest team ot (still don't think that'll make enough of a difference though). If you win Sunday, I think we'll win convincingly at Anfield, as the motivation will be through the roof for the players and Kop alike. If by some miracle, we win on Sunday, I think that'llspur you on to win in the reverse fixture at Anfield. Footy is all about your mental strength in these types of games and Liverpool don't have any and haven't for 3 years now. Thats BRs biggest challenge if he is to succeed at Liverpool.
1. But we do have better players and are a better footballing team 2. We've hammered you at home once and will do so again in the return fixture
On a sidenote Toela, you seem to be linked with Sturridge all the time. You think he's the answer to your lack of striking power/ quality? (Bar Suarez of course)
To be honest this Sunday's game is hard to call, but whatever happens I can't see it impacting the result at Anfield, and I certainly can't see you beating us convincingly at Anfield on the basis of us winning at the Liberty. We've proven twice in the last year that we can handle the Kop atmosphere, so can't see why we'd get battered in February if we win on sunday
How does Rodgers know Strurridge then ?? ... Its not like him to go for a player he hasnt worked with in the past..
I have to say, I think Sturridge will do well at Liverpool under Rodgers. He doesn't seem to be getting the chance he maybe deserves at Chelsea and he could prove to be Rodgers best signing if it comes off.
whoever is convinced we will win on sunday is off their head, Its a game to close to call and one game i would not put any money on in a million years,,,,both sides are on par with one another and both teams can run away with it if all the players are not on top of our game.....If we let the best player by a mile in the game with suarez loose on Sunday then he will destroy us with his skill all by him self, If we can control him and sterling then we will have a chance of getting a result.....chico if he plays had better watch his temper as if anyone can wind him up it will be suarez and Rodgers will know that so he needs to watch his step. Liverpool's defense is not the best and we need to exploit that with plenty of crosses into the box for michu and the rest of the players who sir mike picks for the game.....I think its going to be a very close game with the end result a draw...2-2
Don't want to worry anyone but I woke up in the mother of all panics this morning - dreamt that Liverpool beat us 7-0!!!!!!! Thankfully I remembered that dreams are supposed to work out opposite. They do don't they? It was one of those detailed dreams that seemed very real and I can clearly recall that Sterling created havoc with us. Think I'll contact Rangel and mark his card. On a hopefully more realistic note, I agree that this is a difficult game to call. We are well capable of winning the game but so are Liverpool....... I guess it will come down to who wants it most on the day. I hope it's us.
I fancy us mainly on the basis that we seem to play better against the footballing sides, especially with the extra tactical dimension that Laudrup has added to our game. It's against the more physical sides in which we struggle. Liverpool will be wary of our pace on the break after our cup game, which is something we lacked under Rodgers who favoured knocking the ball around endlessly when a possible break was on
which is something we lacked under Rodgers who favoured knocking the ball around endlessly when a possible break was on this is very true, I can see most of the game played in the middle of the field and leon needs to be a bit better than recent games to get the ball out to dyer/routledge and michu who can take the liverpool defense on. The game will be won or lost on how the midfielders on both sides perform....who is marking joe allen i wonder...
Tounge in cheek Dai, you clown We don't need to worry about who will be marking Joe Allen, hasn't been playing to his potential recently and I would actually question on current performances whether he would get into the Swansea team, given the quality of our midfield options. Now run along Dai and play sucky sucky with Brenda
You hammered our B team 3-1 well done! Anyway, the point about mental fragility is very pertinent - whoever scores first is crucial, especially from our point of view. And on Sturridge... he'd be better than nothing but he's by no means a perfect fit - he can't, or rather won't, pass a ball.
Another factor is that Liverpool are playing Thursday night. What sort of importance is that game? How many first teamers will be involved?
