Bet you he was happy during the late seventies/eighties. You don't help yourself by continually throwing wood on the fire.
I think you'll find its more like petrol!! I know i just find it strange that people get kicks out of winding others up. We all have our own opinions but these boards are rarely discussions, they either end up being banter, a swearing competition or a pointless argument going round in circles. I come on these boards for no other reason than to discuss football but it seem most people don't!!
The Ipswich board has had in-fighting on it for ages and that is why I distance myself from it and try not to get involved. It says something about what is happening at the club though. Everyone wants the best for Ipswich but nothing has changed since ME has come in, hence the strong emotional posts from fans who only want to see us doing well and heading in the right direction instead of stagnating whilst we watch other clubs pass us.
Who said it was decent? A load of drivel if you ask me, i know, your not asking me!! These sites are all about opinions, my opinion is that this is the Ipswich Town page, not the 'Big time Charlie' Scousers page. If you want to talk about Liverpool then why not talk to those in the know on the Liverpool page?
Never really had any respect for Liverpool or their fans, their team of the '70's, although undeniably good, pretty much mastered the art of time-wasting the last few minutes of a game if they were winning...goalkeeper rolls ball out to right back, right back draws opposing forward, passes to left back, left back passes back to goalkeeper...repeat...(thankfully the rules of the game have changed so that this practice is a thing of the past!!) Then there was Heysel, and the clubs ludicrous attempts to blame Chelsea fans (yes, Chelsea fans!!) for the disaster...(according to the conspiracy theory, Chelsea hooligans disguised themselves as Liverpool fans and organised the whole sorry affair). Surely this couldn't have been the same Liverpool fans that in the early '80's I heard singing songs about "Stanley Knives" in the North Stand? Project this forward to today and you get that twat that ran on the pitch at the Carrot Patch "worshipping" Suarez and taking the piss in front of the Barclay, sums Liverpool up perfectly! The most knowledgeable fans in football? Do me a favour! No time for them or their club at all!
Back on topic at last.....was getting a bit tired of the thread being hijacked with all the love for Lampy… King Kenny getting the boot is down to his complete lack of PR skills. The Suarez saga mid-season made Kenny a dead man walking for the rest of the season. He foolishly backed Suarez when public opinion was against him & his own player had misled him. Standard Charter would probably walk away from the deal with Liverpool if they could, their shareholders are up in arms that they are linked with a club that have a racist smear against them & no Champions league football. The remit at the start of the season was champions league football, the American owners do not like to be let down and again the sponsors will not like the lack of coverage they are missing out on. Kenny was probably not the new owners ideal choice of manager, they probably just got caught up in the ground swell from the fans who wanted Kenny to replace Roy. 8th place finish is not good enough for the Scousers, as for the league cup they only just managed to overcome Cardiff..! But in all honesty I could not give two hoots about them or the situation they find themselves in.
Have been **** for years relying on Gerrard for too long and buying average players and expecting too much......imo
