FJH, do you not think his agent only said that because no one outside of England that would be interested in him could afford him?
Its difficult to know what to believe as there has been so much written in the papers, forums etc. When he joined us he said he would finish his playing career in his own country which i think most foreign players would probably say they intend to do. He then said he was homesick, he kissed his shin pad with his daughters name on it every time he scored which i honestly believe this was a genuine show of emotion not some game he was playing. Then he said he wanted out as he wanted to be closer to his family unfortunately no one could afford him so he didn't get his wish. His family have now moved here and i think if RM had not gone over the top with his punishment (putting him on the bench for too many matches) the refusal to play or warm up whichever you story believe would not have happened and he may have been back in the starting line-up and enjoying himself. I think the whole affair has been handled badly, i cannot see how he can come back without making RM look like Mansours puppet bearing in mind he RM said "Carlos will never play for me again" its a shame as he was (and still is) a fantastic player.
