There is no way that Vidic can be classed as "the`best defender in the premier league" as he has played so few games that the stats for this season do not support your assertion. You may get 2 more years out of Ferdinand but you'll have to accept that he's a general liability - a back twinge just waiting to happen

Maxi often plays in matches of this intensity...and plays well. I had no problem with him starting. We lack creativity up front without him so he's an option I never think to myself oh he shouldn't start. Kennys tactics were hardly horrendous. Personally I thought we should have pressed a little harder and higher but ffs this Utd team whatever you think of it is still a bloody good set of players. At the end of the day both teams were missing key players and Kenny isn't as naive as some who might think our squad is as strong as theirs...yet. I never for one moment thought we played terribly for the first 62 minutes we just never played great. Ultimately it was Kennys substitutions that changed the game so why not give a bit more credit to him for that and just be grateful we knocked the ****ing Manks out the Cup
