Agree. Think Wickham has played well. Sterling is a diving cheating little c**t Edit: think Jozy did OK as well
If we can get it right going forward, and that means a proper attacking centre midfielder and a striker, we could be very, very good.
Great result. 3 very difficult games in 8 days and I expected 0 points and we got 2 very good points. But for a little luck (Wickham's shot or Gomez's) it could have comfortably been 4 points. Pantilimon had 2 saves to make and they were on poor shots IMO. Great display again and Bridcutt looks every bit a decent player
FABIO BORINI insists he is well aware that the summer transfer saga involving the chase for his signature will have left Sunderland fans “frustrated”. Sunderland made Borini their number one target at the end of last season after the Italian’s successful loan spell at the Stadium of Light. But despite Sunderland agreeing a £14million fee with Liverpool, Borini essentially priced himself out of re-joining the Black Cats with his wage demands. As the Echo reported earlier this week, Sunderland have no intention of reviving their interest in the upcoming January transfer window. And prior to Sunderland’s clash at Anfield today, Borini told the Liverpool programme: “I realise what happened in the summer probably frustrated a few people when I didn’t move to Sunderland permanently. “But my time there put a good stone in the ground in terms of the Premier League for me and I will always remember Sunderland. “I said in an interview I did towards the end of last season that Sunderland took a piece of my heart and I will always have a lot of time for the club and the supporters. “Having said that I am a Liverpool player so if I’m involved and I score, I will celebrate. “Since I returned to Liverpool I have played Champions League football. “I want to start every game because that’s what a player with ambition like me wants me to do.” Na, you didn't even make the bench Fabio
We got a bit bossed in midfield second half. We didn't seem to be able to work the ball out from defence without passing sideways, backwards and then hoof it. We had our moments and there seemed to be a bit of pride, passion, commitment. Zonal marking largely reduced them to half chances, but we were along way from Gus's passing and posession style of play. I also thinks Gus's subs were negative, I thought he made changes to play for a draw when we could have pushed on, I'd rather lose by going down fighting than bottle it in a defensive huddle. Both teams had chances to score and 1-0 would have probably sealed it. Liverpool possibly deserved it more by being positive, though in the end, perhaps no one really did enough to win it.
Gus made one or two wrong calls in the City game, but overall you have to feel pleased with 2 points gained, with the hand we were given this week.
I'm pleased about that mind with our record of resurrecting forgotten men, he would have scored the winner
Good point, that. We do need to start beating the lesser lights though. P.s. Sombrero, you are a guest. Behave!!
