I went to anfield a few seasons ago to see us play them. Having heard, from my Liverpool supporting friends, how the atmosphere was the "best in the world" I got there nice and early and got to my seat. Bit of banter with the Liverpool fans behind the goal and all good natured. Start of the game the crowd sang the YNWA along with the CD and that was actually quite special. Then the match kicked off. I've heard better atmospheres at a funeral parlour. Silence. Very disappointing. Nothing from the Kop, nothing from the fans next to us, in fact there was only us making any noise for the whole 90 minutes. Only noise from Liverpool fans came when they scored!
The 'Kenwyne Jones missed a sitter at 0-0 game' was it? The atmosphere was eerie except the Sunderland section.
