Not about us but from Pat Collins column

Disturbing news from deepest Devon, where Gilbert the Gull, the Torquay United mascot, is accused of calling his own club supporters ‘a bunch of c****’ and challenging them to a fight.
The distressing incident took place at Plainmoor last weekend. Gilbert, aka Steve Jegat, denies the charges, which the club describe as ‘an exchange of views’.

I’ve often wondered what impels people to dress as a teddy bear, an octopus, or even a seagull, in order to watch football on Saturday afternoons.
Do they take the bus? Do they pay full fare? And those fans whom Gilbert allegedly insulted: how did they feel when they got home? ‘Nice day at the football, dear?’ ‘Not really. Some foul-mouthed seagull tried to pick a fight. And we got beat. By Grimsby. What’s for tea?’

That bit just tickles me <laugh>

The Media in general. I have only seen the MOTD highlights, I wasn't at Liverpool or see a stream so on that sighting alone it seems as though we hardly ever got out of our own half at all, but having come across this situation many a time when I was at a match I don't believe it one bit. Liverpool were crap so we were expected to get a point not that City put up a good display of defending against a team where a couple of players cost more than City's whole team just about.

Are you sure it was at Anfield?

He was also giving away countless silly fouls. It was the right move IMO.

Huddlestone made fouls in the game, he could have been sent off. Diame was one of our best players, arguably the best.

No doubt Diame had a good game - he made one or two excellent forward bursts and did some excellent defensive covering work but he was running on empty towards the end, especially when he ran back to make a challenge just before he was subbed. I think Steve Bruce was spot on with his substitutions.

I did see him not run right to the corner on one instance near the end, but as with any player you can't run for every single ball and there was still 5 minutes left so I didn't think that was a big deal.

Who gave the ball away in midfield to give them their final chance, was it Huddlestone/Meyler/Livermore?

He was shattered, that one you're talking about he'd have got if he was still fit, the foul he gave away by treading on the full back's calf just outside the area was a dangerous position and usually he would have enough in the tank to not make that foul.

The change made perfect sense and was at the right time, Meyler won a few throws and a couple of loose balls that I don't think Mo would have done in the last 5.

Diame was brilliant again yesterday, he's been an absolutely bargain.

He's put Meyler on as a defensive substitution a few times recently though and it hasn't worked well at all, this time we got through, just.

He did the previous week at Arsenal too. His work rate is extraordinary. Just needs to be a little more accurate on his passing but he makes an immense defensive contribution which often goes unnoticed.

He did cover the most ground a week ago, but four other players (2 from Arse, Thudd and Diame) were within 10% of him.
