Don't think having either of those 2 today would've made a difference, if you look at the goals we conceded, Ramsey-Walcott wouldn't have done nothing about them, on the reverse, in terms of attacking play, with how slow we were, and with how motivated Liverpool were, it wouldn't have made much difference, Walcott would get no service, and he'd probably get brushed off easily once he did have the ball.
More the reason to enjoy saying it while we can I agree there are definitely things we need to improve on if we want to go the full distance and win the title, but it's ott to say we need to start doing stuff on the pitch when we have spent most of the season at the top of the table, obviously we have been doing it on the pitch, the issue is making sure we continue to get results and address the deficiences.
We did bounce back, but, in terms of improving VS the big teams, it's another bad one for us, We beat Spurs, but drew at home to Chelski (okayish) and now got thrashed at Liverpool, Liverpool were basically our second biggest away game since the City one, and it's not 6-3, and 5-1, not very good at all.
But the point still stands that for us to be top at this point we have obviously be doing stuff on the pitch.
Unlucky lads. Like yourselves we weren't expecting that. I'd have taken a draw and been happy if you'd offered it before the game. Good luck with the rest of the season. You'll be top 4 no problem and, hopefully, so will we.
I think Ramsey would have made a difference, we are missing his engine and tackling in midfield at the moment I think.
Completely agree about Rosicrucian, (iPad hates player names....)he should have had a place somewhere in the starting line up. He totally comes into his element in the bigger games.
4 losses this season: Villa, United, City, and Liverpool....Basically, again, against the big teams we are coming short.
But according to some on here, our sleepwalking in the first half have been good performances, and we're just doom mongers for saying how **** our 1st half performances have been. If this ass kicking, and the importance of this Wednesday's game don't get our team to start off in top gear, then nothing will.
I wouldn't really mind that if we are consistent in other games. What is worrying is our casualness at the start of games. Not just big teams can capitalize on that.
Im not so sure , once a team realizes that you are NO THREAT whatsoever to them ( LE Blousen ) , it gives them carte blanche to push more players forward . Had Walcott and Ramsey been on , that alone would have altered the dynamic. We shall never know. But after assessing a few months , it seems that Ros is MORE valuable as a player to us than Ozil . Ozil makes some good assists ( normally ) Ros MAKES things happen .
Knowing us, we're somehow going to find a way to make United look good. We have this mental block against them, we just cannot perform against them
Does Ozil have it in his contract that he must start every game because in most games he is like a passenger in this league you get found out you have to have the workrate with the skill maybe he needs a rest but he needs to get dropped!
