Last I checked when we bought those player they we rents ****. Arshavin had a great 1st season, Chammy was good up until RvP came back, Squil was experienced and we thought he'd be good. We were wrong. Park was meant as cover, but he couldn't get a look in. Oh and btw it's good to see you have access to Arsenal's finances, and you know more about the than the manager andbthe board.
The only reason I'm not going to every game is because I don't live in England, I'm in Uni, and I'm not the richest guy around.
I would meet up with you for a drink before a home game sometime but I know how you Welsh get around wool (and my hair looks like that right now.)
I'm following Swansea/Sunderland, Spurs/Norwich and WBA/Everton. Routledge has equalised for Swansea.
Steven Fletcher has looked pretty good actually. I slated Sunderland for paying a large fee for him, but so far it's looking justified.
I think the key will be the full-backs on both sides and who finishes their chances. Enrique needs to rediscover his early last season form - he's class when he's playing well. If not, the pace you possess in your wingers could punish us. Likewise, whoever you play at fullback (especially at right back) will have to be up for it to deal with the pace of Sterling or Assaidi or indeed the trickery of Suarez. It's worth noting that RVP was the only player worth the shirt when you played us at Anfield last season. He single handedly won the game for you - I remember it as the loss which perhaps hurt the most last season because we should have scored several times. But that is our problem! Both sides have good midfields and decent defences, and look to play good football... promises to be a good game. Think I'll go for a safe 1-1 but I've a feeling that we'll dominate and throw it away (the new Liverpool way it seems).
Chensey had an outstanding game. Made loads of saves and that double save from the pen was class. Also, Sagna was very good that day and put in that brilliant cross for RVP's first goal.
Sagna's cross was good yes, but the header was equally good. To be honest, so many opposition keepers gave good performances last season that they blended into one. It's basically a given. It's also partially down to our lack of clinical finishing, we allow keepers to make saves they shouldn't. ie - the penalty. Any penalty should be scored.
