Sunday. 4pm.
Well here we are, the very last game of a magnificent run. All good things must inevitably come to an end and so it is here.

It's Klopp's last game as well, btw.

Shame it's fizzled out a bit, but we did our best. A pot and a return to the CL isn't the worst haul, but at one point it promised so much more. Still, we hope our successor can build on the solid foundations we've established and take us to even greater heights.

@saintKlopp

Cheers for doing the match threads this season, much appreciated

Even though you failed miserably in the end ;)

But you did get a trophy <badger>

It'll be a party at anfield.

Klopp seemed quite "emotional" at the end of the villa game with the away fans.

I'm fully sure most of the affair will be the crowd singing one song and a lot of tears by thr end.

Going to be strange without him, transformed the club and will leave the new manager with a very good squad.

Club heading towards industrialization. Not sure if good or bad... But I'm convinced FSG have a machine philosophy for the club.

I don't know what that means.

Every person is a part with a defined role. They've been going that way all along but Klopp was always too big to fit in his little role and had expanded. He was a biological heart in a mechanical realm.

Manager being replaced by head coach. Head coach decided primarily based on the fact he plays similar tactics to what is prescribed to junior levels of the club.

It feels very machinelike. Insert youth on one end, get player out the other. No one is irreplaceable. The manager not intended to be the creative lead but rather just another piece of the machine.

Even though it is time for him to go, I am sorry to see Matip go. He was one of Klopp's first signings, on a free, and has served us better than anyone could've imagined over the years.

He will be difficult to replace because, even as promising as Quansah is, few can match the way Matip brought the ball out of defence to set up attacks. I think we've missed that this season. It would definitely have helped against Atalanta.

Don't dislike him as an individual and don't fault his effort level. Nor do I groan if I see his name on the team sheet the way other players have made me in the past...

As you say, it's just time he moved on. We need players who can contribute more.

Quansah looks really comfortable with ball at his feet and has stepped into midfield a few times but generally more so against a deep block with space rather than Matip when goes on those crazy slaloming runs taking on 3 players and ending up in the 6 yard box waiting for a pass.

Was it against arsenal few years back he did one, got a little 1-2 and slotted it in.

BBC being as accurate as ever...
