Our strongest team (stronger with a fully match fit Sturridge up front and Lallana on the bench). Hopefully that's true. Thought team news was about 2pm?? Actually, when Sturridge is ready to start again which midfielder do we drop??
From that line up, Lallana. Sturridge take Stelring's place and Sterling/Coutinho play behind him Means Coutinho can be replaced by Lallana after about 70 minutes when he starts to become less influential. Or visa versa...
He's not a sub he's in regular rotation. Based on current form I'd be tempted to drop Sterling. At least we're not paying £265,000/week for someone who can't get on the bench ahead of a 19 year old.
Joke. I know we do this 'rotation' malarkey. Sterling has been out of position so think that's partly to blame for him not being as impactful. Coutinho in great form currently so he starts all day. Would give Sterling a start next game back in his true home as an AM, see how it goes and how he links up with a starting Sturridge.
Coutinho and Stelring have linked up well. Need to keep that partnership going while adding Sturridge into it as well. We still have a long season with the EL games to play so Lallana will get plenty of chances to play and rotate with Coutinho.

I don't think Sterling is misfiring, he's just showing a lack of maturity. That will come better with playing than sitting around watching, imo. He's a fine young player, and I don't think we should be too harsh on him because he's still a way off the finished article.
