Isn't Wenger allergic to playing Walcott as a striker?

... and Suarez jumps to favourite for the golden boot this season with Sturridge at 7-1. Can't say I'm surprised but I wish I had put a tenner on this last week.

Arsenal aren't really a "pressing side". What you find in these games is both teams sit off and let the opposition have it at the back and only press when it get's to midfield.

    The real reason we won...

Danish tennis star Caroline Wozniacki was at Anfield to watch her favourite team Liverpool beat West Brom on Saturday, saying: "I love all the traditions of the club and I know a few guys on the team. I love coming to watch the games. The atmosphere is just amazing."

She's good luck, get her to every game! Plus she looks pretty damn good in a Liverpool shirt :bandit:

I think you should post a pic of her in a Liverpool shirt to back up your claim.

And their main person in midfield that does press well is Flamini who is injured :).

However, don't underestimate Ramsey - he will be remembered for his attacking ability, but he has been brilliant defensively and won a lot of tackles (might wanna check the stats to confirm!).

No doubt Ramsey is in top form. Wilshere has been poor this season and Ramsey has nicked his spot.

    Expect midfield and attack?

    -----------Ramsey---------Arteta------------
    ----------------------Ozil-----------------------
    -----Wilshere------------------Cazorla------
    --------------------Giroud----------------------

Looking at the lacks of width there I think three CB's should be played. Compact and let Johnson and Enrique give the width for us.

A lot of creative ball players though so Lucas will need to be at his best.

not really digging cissohko yet. have not seen anything to really jump up and down about. enrique is better.

We will win with this side IMO

    Mingolet
    Johnson Toure Sahko Cissohko
    Coutinho henderson gerrard lucas Suarez
    Sturridge

maybe henderson will go wide right but the idea si to flood the midfield, suarez included and really cut off the supply for arsenal.

I very much doubt that Ford will start. May not even be on the bench.

I agree that Cissokho is still settling into the team but he has come back injury as well fitting into the club and new tactics/formation.

He is a better player than Enrique and I feel a lot more confident knowing that he's playing. Stronger, faster and can really whip the ball in - I believe he had 2 assists?

Well All I know is i heard that coutinho was being talked about. Its about the time he was mooted to return and we were deffo told that he was in training and should step up to full contact this week. after that we'll see.

I am looking at cissohko form just generally on the ball, not the systems stuff and so forth. He does have one assist v west brom. he put the ball in the saurez produced his wonder header off i think. not quite a full assist as that cross was not a gimme or anything. That said he's got a lot of scope to improve in terms of system and such.... I just don't see something that would have me jumping up and down about an amazing bargain that will improve our team over where it is... thats all. maybe he will settle and do more. I'm not precluding that. I'm not sticking him ins some already judged category and never to be looked at again.

Yeah I know what you mean - IMO, I see him as a more physical version of Enrique. Not the classy, intelligent full back that Rodgers wants, but compared to Enrique, he's faster, better dribbler and stronger. More importantly, he has a physical and aerial presence - he won a few meaty headers against Newcastle.

All in all, he adds to the depth of the squad - we now have two experienced left backs (one of which has top level experience with teams like Porto and Lyon and won a league title). Enrique cost £6m and Cissokho could cost €4m if we buy him at the end of the season. £10m for both players is great value.

I believe Rodgers could be looking at another left back in Alberto Moreno, who was recently won UEFA European Under-21 Football Championship with Spain. Martin Montoya is another full back (right sided) that Rodgers likes and you can see the type of player he's after.

you could be right. i think there are very few that beat enrique for pace once he sprints but yeah aerial presence and a bit of power there.

you are for sure right about having two players for a slot for very little modern day money is good.

finally yes, end game would be a player like alba or cafu or alves or maicon or sich for both sides. moreno is good. so is contreau.

I'll be interested to see what cissohko does but so far i am not getting that passing, vision, type thing off him. enrique can dribble and run but he's got low vision.

    yes.

just that i had heard from rodgers talk that coutinho was back in training and it was also rumored he was likely to start. I expect the press conference will tell us far more.
