Ojo needs to be more direct IMO. He has pace and power but today seemed too laboured in possession. Everything was taking too long. I was shouting 'run at him,run at him'
He's only 18. It's just nobody wants a hyped up youngster headed off on summer hols resting on his laurels. That's never an assist..... Just give him 2 years and see where he's at. Don't fall for the social media and press hype. I hope he doesn't
Firmino has 11 goals and 10 assists in his debut season. Slow start but turned it on since the start of the year. Sure he'll be even better next season.
if you were drawing a list of good v bad it'd be: Good: shot stopping Willingness Bad: Makes mistakes Makes more mistakes Can't pass it more than 20 yards the guy tries, its not like he doesn't but there was a time the watford keeper gomez was well thought of too... he's consistently dropped the same sort of clangers and frankly mingolet is going to as well.
Yup 100% agree. You know Gomes will pull off worldies (probably more than minger) but he's even more inconsistent and will drop the most ridiculous of goals in (See fat Franks where it hits his chest). That is not the sort of keeper you want in a team challenging for the top. I was just responding to skylarker about Migs not being as bad as people make him out to be which is probably true. I am awaiting his next clanger though so you guys can all jump on his back again... maybe i'll be lucky and he'll drop a couple in the europey final
He was good at surs (and bad) and prompted them buying lloris. don't be a jinx... plus will they even cross it? If a side doesn't cross he's usually not going to flog one.
Didn't look like they crossed it much but looked deadly on the counter attack against shakhtar. Not sure if its because the shakhtar players were generally slow and sevilla were very fast but they just seemed to float past all their players. As long as you do those cynical little fouls ala stoke and co then you can stop their counter attacking game and it should be an easy victory
Everyone is jumping on Mig but he's not been the worse. Other than de gea (who has also made some bad errors, lobbed direct from a corner anyone?) the rest have been poor. Lloris has let a couple of soft ones in, another yesterday for example. Cech the same, Courtois hasn't been great and been sent off.
I guess, he's no worse, so.. stopped the "bleeding" and hopefully can see him improve his positional game come next year, if not, we know and he knows Klopp will find someone to replace him! Granted, Ibe and Skrtel, not seen an improvement in them. Ibe, maybe more his own doing, believed in his own hype and most likely stopped putting in the effort. Skrtel, well, eveyone has their best by date, I guess he's passed his so no improvement possible. Coutinho, can't say he's better than he was in 13/14.. but maybe he's more consistent? Back to the game.. Given all the changes, was more than happy with the result, no injuries or suspensions picked up. Goals scored, none conceded, yesterdays team selection should allow us to field a pretty strong team for Wednesday (Klopp hinted as much in the post match conference) and then rap those players up in cotton wool until the following Wednesday.
In a stop start season for both Firmino and KDB, its the Citeh player getting all the plaudits.. not belittling the lads impact, he's been superb, but our Bobby's not been too shabby either and cost half the price too... both are pretty much the same age too, think KDB is a year or so younger... I predict (hope) they'll both have even better seasons next year..
de bruyne was shameful in CL semi final. Firmino has been decent but needs to step it up again next year... as the no 10... which is where he's played with coutinho left side.. well he's got to be more consistent. thats expecting big things basically. if we want to deliver next year he's got to.
He's been pretty productive given his injury issues and given the fact that he's had to adapt to life in England/New League, etc... Also, a pre-season with Klopp will help.. he'll be better, I can feel it in me bones!
