who picks motm is it alan fookin smith . shame cause Coutinho put so much effort in .. stupid really sky sports got the most brainless boring commentator who is crap just like when he played himself .. nevermind best of luck lads
When Coutinho is bothered he is a brilliant player. I don't know if anyone has noticed but most of his games where he plays a blinder is when the team presses collectively. It is when he presses alone and then looks back to see no one following up that he gives up. Yesterday the pressing was brilliantly done as a team and not in isolation. Furthermore, when Lucas pressed Hendo covered and vice versa. You will never get that with Gerrard unfortunately. I think Stevie will be more usefull in the Europa and FA cup games while coming on as a sub in most league games. I know Allen is not the most favorite player but should one of the DMs get tired pressing he is a good option to have in such a team. The main thing is to keep up that intensity for all league games while choping and changing squad players.
Go on then, I'll take the dog for a walk (just to confirm, I'm not saying he is better than any dogs owned by Liverpool fans).
Isn't it nice just to have some positives to take away from a game again, and of course to have all the bitters back trying to rain on the parade #orderisrestored
Still pissed off with Smith for his analysis of Swans goal, and specifically blaming Sakho. he said he 'panicked', but Bony was not his man, and had he not made a superhuman effort to get that ball (watch it again, it was ****ing tremendous) Bony could have chested the ball down and tapped it in, let alone have a free header. He was unfortunate that both Skrtel and, to a lesser extent, hendo never picked up the loose ball. I could add a catalogue of Smithisms over the years when he has completely ****ed up, but let's just say he's that bad - and so often bone-headedly wrong - that he appears to be Michael Owen's muse. Got to mention when we played Hull at Anfield last season though. Suarez was karate chopped in the neck and side of the face by Davies, maybe four yards away from the ref who missed it. He went down like a sack of ****e (for once, I think ANYONE would have), to which Smith said "Surely the ref has got to book Suarez for that blatant dive"! His co-commentator, along with practically everyone, Liverpool fan or not, who was watching said "he could have really been felled there, you know". Sure enough, the replays showed that was exactly what happened - he was simply, and deliberately, smashed to the ground right in front of the referee. Smith's reaction? "Well, you can't blame the ref as Suarez's reputation has come back to cost him there". I often think of that on the few occasions that Smith gets a call right. Don't blame us for not believing you, Alan: your reputation will always come back to cost you.
How the **** that man holds down a job as a co-commentator is a complete mystery, he's clueless, as well as being massively Gooner biased. Can't stand the dreary montone drone of the complete bore. He's pipped at the post by that uber melt Davie Provan as the most useless around though.
My thoughts exactly. Winning a header against Bony is not easy, especially considering he wasn't even his man. The disappointing thing is how Skrtel abdicates responsibility and expects Henderson to track Bony, then no one picks up Sigurdson. With the likes of Sakho and now Can coming in, hopefully everyone can now see how poor Skrtel is as a defender. He got by last year because we all focused on quality attacking football and winning games. This year, Lovren was the scapegoat. Take these factors out and his inability is a lot more visible. However, I thought Sakho had a decent game. It would have been very good but a poor 10-15 mins after we conceded let him down and could have cost us. Not the finished article but clearly our best CB. The most pleasing thing is that we had 2 aggressive defenders who can play the ball (Sakho and Can) - Sakho's bullet passing to the midfield and Can's ability to carry the ball and his long balls. Manquillo was solid defensively without being spectacular which is what I really want from a defender. Hopefully we can keep him.
Add to that Can is clever when passing out of defence, if there is nothing safe looking he runs a bit and makes an option or in another case he passed it into space for someone to move on to, he was clever with possession at the back, always looking to avoid putting us in a tricky situation. He really gave the impression that he felt no pressure when in possession of the ball.
And I'd be happy with him actually getting a game so let him crawl before asking him to be the ban! If he can hold down rcb and look good for 5 games I'll be delighted
I'm also delighted to see a few others saw Skertl totally **** up fir thier goal passing off the one guy Swansea had to some ghost player he imagined while he ball watched another player
And even if he had he would have had a laugh over it! Been saying for ages that Smith is a joke as an 'expert' commentator and his bias to arsenal is embarrassing at times. And Tobes is right, he really disliked suarez and was constantly critical of him even when he was fouled.
