whos did you guys think was motm last night ..I had coutinho couldn't belive lallana got it missed good chance done fook all first half .. lucky with one goal .. the little man made his second ( superb flick ) thought coutinho was motm by a mile .. he always great going forward ...
A good win and I think credit to Shelvey for not celebrating when he scored his goal on his return to Anfield
Lallana was crap other than his 2nd goal. They kept bumming him last night saying how he is the only signing of the summer that has succeeded... Coutinho was fantastic again last night and my MOTM. However Henderson back in midfield and Can were both solid. Just need Rodgers to see sense and put them in midfield together.
The one time I choose not to watch and go out instead we play well and score 4 goal, typical. Plus I fell over on the ****ing black ice.
Nothing really, just a bruise on the arm and knee from landing. Luckily fell sideways instead of on my arse. Annoying thing was I had managed to walk all the way to where I was going and all the way back, no slips, then as I stopped to walk up the driveway at home went down
Credit where it's due, I watched the second half last night and thought Liverpool played very well. The midfield looked much more mobile for some reason. Still think Sakho is awful though. His first touch and passing is like something out of 1980's 4th Division football.
Well I prefer his 'awkward' passing straight to the midfield which actually started the attacks for two of our goals then pointless 'safe' passing around our defence and keeper.
It was Lallana's best performance IMO but he didn't really get into the game until the second half. What I liked about his performance (in the second half) is that he played quicker and played the right ball. My main criticism of him is that he often dwells on the ball and doesn't execute. But he certainly improved yesterday. But Coutinho was head and shoulders above the rest. He has the ability to get the ball from deep and carry the ball 20-30 yards. We don't have that with any other midfielder bar Can. Such an exciting footballer and he's only 22. I know a lot of fans are critical of his consistency but he's still young and consistency comes with age.
Strange game that one, the gifting of 2 goals by Swansea made the scoreline flattering, it was a tight game for the most part. Amazed that a side with such a good defensive record, turned up at Anfield and defended like the Dog and Duck though. Still not sure about his new formation, albeit having 2 actual full backs in the wide midfield positions did make it look more solid. I thought they both had good games. Surely he has to drop Gerrard now? as without him you had so much more energy in central midfield.
We gained 2 points on everyone above us but arsenal, and 3 on Swans Hopefully Rodgers has the balls to keep Christmas Balls on the bench. We'd have got beat had Gerrard played last night, am sure of that.
You are right it was a tight game first half, in fact for 10 mins Swansea penned us back no question I think they turned up wanting to sit off and defend and rely on the break, their prior records indicate that they have a bit of away day blues and don't play well here Once lallana swanned in and scored they really gave up a bit You are right though it's more about having 11 men all working rather than 2/3 passengers
Swans defensive screen was dismantled last night by pressing and a midfield and forwards who pulled it about until it was in tatters. The attacks and midfield build up was much faster. The midfield cover was much quicker when we lost the ball. It certainly wasn't perfect but showed more resilience then we've seen this season. Interesting that a Manc should pick on Sakho when his own side is defensively pathetic! Sakho may look awkward but he passes forward accurately and at pace. He also is prepared to attack the ball. I can only see him improving. As for Gerrard, I can see him being effectively employed in away matches where the set-up has to be re-jigged.
