BBC not even reporting that the red card was even contentious. Obviously they're under orders not to blow more hot air into Monk's injustice balloon.

A clear, terrible decision that should be highlighted by every news company.

It doesn't excuse the defending for the goals, and we'd already lost the lead by that point, but these terrible decisions against us have to stop.

From what I saw on the stream live and in replays Fed's tackle was a 50-50 ball, he got there a fraction first and his feet were on the ground and not studs up. He slid into the tackle, not jumped in. In fact the 'Pool player arrival into the ball was no different than Fed's. That's not a red card situation IMO.

    Yes, we'd 'lost the lead'.

I didn't see the game. What was the reaction of the Liverpool player like? Anyhow another disappointing result, again with give up a lead. Is it just bad luck or are we sitting back and our possession game has deteriorated?

The equaliser was from a good cross from the right wing. It went over Fed and Balotelli connected in front of Rangel, who had basically turned away from the ball. Don't quite understand what Rangel thought he was doing. Could it have been prevented - probably yes, but a well taken goal nonetheless.

I see it week in week out with the video ref in rugby league over here they are a joke, 2 refs, 2 lineys and 2 video refs and the asswipes still cannot get it right, 20,000 can see a dropped ball but the men in the video seat cannot, every week there is a howler, 4 officials in football is different as only 2 are really in play

I don't understand your post. Why are you persisting to say something that I already said in my post. "We'd already lost the lead" when you're 1-0 up means that it is now 1-1. "Already" implies that it happened before the incident - telling the reader that it was, indeed, 1-1 when the sending off occurred.

Did you misread my post? Or am I meant to give you a gold star for observation?

You're just like a referee Bob. You see it differently to the rest of the world but still refuse to admit a mistake.

In all honesty, you did have more chances, but we limited you to shots from outside the box. As far as guilt-edged opportunities go, Balotelli stuck away one, and Markovic sliced one first half. I don't remember much else. Lovren profited from a goalkeeper error.

You were the better team first half, but were struggling to deal with us second half - a clear game plan that was working. Looked like we were going to get the win until some nice striker's play from Balotelli for his goal. I was praying that we conceded again after the farcical red card. We could do without an extra 30 minutes with 10 men just before our hardest month of the season.

Same to you regarding the season. Not your fault that the ref conned us, so go ahead and focus on winning the trophy now. It could well be your only opportunity at silverware. <ok>

We had already lost the lead, but what has that got to do with the decision? It was 1-1 and we were very much in the game.

Because if it had happened at 1-0, it would have made the bad decision a whole lot worse. In other words, we'd already conceded so our players could not use that as an excuse for throwing away the lead.

Any other obvious implications that you need me to spell out for you?

That's pretty much how I saw the game pan out - 1st half we dominated but didn't create enough to score. 2nd you dominated, but to honest other than your goal didn't create anything of note, just like us really.

We equalised and it could have easily gone either way - the ref runied the game as per usual.

It was one of those games that probably would have ended a late night going to penalties as we cancelled each other out effectively. We certainly didn't want penalties with our schedule coming up, and I'm sure you're the same.

But overall I thought we did edge it, not by much but slightly. The Red card will be recinded surely, that should be a given to be honest.

All I can do is echo other Liverpool fans and hope you get it recinded and wish you the best for the season - I'm sure you'll have a good enough season, as you're a decent outfit.

I hope this doesn't stop the wummer Valleygraduate coming on our board <whistle> he's a decent fella <ok>

Yes it was. But the ref had it out his pocket faster than a rat up a drain pipe <ok>

Hope Fernandez has his red rescinded. Great tackle - he was good throughout.

Not sure his sending off really changed anything though, there wasn't enough time + the second was a GK error.

Pretty awful game all in all, we both had nothing going forward and Monk's gameplan was to sit back and counter.

Thought Fulton (??) looked a decent player. Was that his debut or has he been involved all season?
