I was one of those. Had a lot of words so am consuming over the weekend He's still no CB to be fair......just sayin....
Didn't see the game as I was on my way back from Boro. Good result though, Spurs seem to rollover every year at Anfield, so I thought you'd win tbh. Good game? Ours was ****e.
Everything I predicted came to pass I said that the outcome of this match will be decided by Pochetino. If he has a rush of blood and play an open game we will thump them. And he did overestimate his team. Mane had a field day and dominated their left back. I am more anxious about teams like Hull and Sunderland who will permanently have 10 outfield players parked in their 1/3 of the pitch.
from one oldie to another no it is personal video recorder basically it just means your recording device . It was just because i "said" i was resident in USA so it confused the system
Think it's an idea that will be copied from now on. It makes sense in the fact you have wall who jumps and you still have cover for the low shot. Only way I can see to counter that is managers saying low and hard shot and see if they give away a pen with a handball.
I thought it was just a prank and at any moment someone would just go over and push some player in the wall over him, a-la Buster Keaton, like.
I would say the best counter is to play football. We had what, five in the wall? Plus Coutinho behind it. That leaves is four players for marking (zones or players). I'd want my team to come up with a couple of training ground drills to take advantage of the space.
I was talking more from the players who take good free kicks and will take the shot on. Agree it would be counter productive for ones who cross or pass to others to shoot as this setup is taking 5 players out the game for a pointless wall.
The thing is...we couldn't go toe to toe with you. We went a flat back 4 which just allowed Mane more freedom because our wing back(Rose) was not available and Poch did not have the nous to rack his brains during the week to come up with something a bit less obvious. Mane v Davies, our steady eddy but no attacking threat whatsoever. So we went to a back 4 which meant Walker could not play his expansive game on our right. Not only that but our players were taking up 532 starting positions whilst playing 4 at the back Poch confused them and that showed because they were clueless with what to do, jelly legs. Should have had GKN as our wing back with Davies in a back 3. Davies would have got support, GKN would have given Mane a bit more tracking back to do....but this is all theory and me venting about my team. Your team played what was in front of them and routed us. Poch getting pelters from me this week. He's good but I'm better
Or Burnely at home. They've only got around 1 point on their travels all season. Nailed on 3 points for them then
Have to say that given your missing defenders and our inability to break a deep, organised team down, I was very surprised that Poch did not set up differently....you could have made life hell for us but instead, made it relatively easy. That said, Klopp would have probably done the same.....think in this league, you have to be able to adapt to win it.
Adapting is the key. Conte has turned a brainless winger into a wing back. I find Poch to struggle when it comes to thinking out of the box. I always hear managers and players say things like, its not about the other team, so long as we play our own game. I don't agree because you don't and cant approach a game against Barca in the same way you approach a game against Villa! If you do then you haven't got a jiffy. If you think your system will always outdo the oppositions then you are plain arrogant. We could have set up better instead Poch sent a lamb to get slaughtered, poor Davies.
