That would be nice, but today I would take them being pants, lazy, first touches like a rhino if one of them lets it hit them on the arse before dribbling over the line for the winner, from a clearly offside position.

    Please.

That's a nice way of saying "perhaps their ambitions have changed...." Eh, Brenda?

Just talking about the game on Sunday Supplement - one of the journos there saying that it would be great if we could move on from being an "upmarket feeder club" and take that expertise into joining in with the top four cartel. Hear hear!

Tough one, it really is. As you say, could go either way. Heart says 2-1 Saints. Head says....hmm....1-1.

We do struggle a bit with high-pressing teams - if it's a Wanyama-Romeu midfield, they are brilliant in a destructive sense, but not blessed with massive calmness on the ball. If you harry well, you may well win.

A lot depends on what kind of mood our front three is in.

I'm not sure what John Richardson is on today though. I get the impression that he knows very little about us.

Firstly he rips into modern day recruiting half an hour ago, ignoring the fact that clubs like us very much make it work. If Villa's recruitment is rubbish, don't simply blame it on the use of stats and video analysis etc.

And then when they get onto our game vs Liverpool today, he says it's great that we're a club who focus on signing British - ignoring the fact that Pelle, Tadic, Mane, Clasie, Romeu, VVD, Cedric, Stek, Martina are all very much not British. Not to mention Toby, Lovren, Gaston, Osvaldo, Yoshida.

I was chatting to a mate of mine who is a Saints fan. Says you're playing your best football and he's said 1-2 Saints.

For us, not having Sturrdige is a blow and we're patently low on confidence and lacking leadership.

Its time for Benteke to start justifying his fee - and Lallana, and Couts is out of form.

Henderson is also out, as is Ings who started well for us and I would start above Benteke.

A few rumours that Sakho may be our captain and he's also risking the untested Firminho.

A lot of variables for us but goals may be a problem.

We may win 2-1 or lose 1 or 2 nill.

    Really difficult to call.

Yes, he does seem to be a bit of a pillock.

In a strange way (and this may well come back to bite me), I'd rather see our two CDs against power/height like Benteke than pace and trickery. You'll be hard pressed to find anyone beating Van Dijk in the air.

(Please don't come back to bite me!!!)

Haha sods law and all that.

When Couts plays well we play well.

Its down to him and Lallana to set a positive midset. Lallana tends to start well for us and then go missing for the rest of the game and becomes a scapegoat for a lot of our fans.

Skrts is a ready made mistake which is very concerning.

Sakho and Can our playing better though - so who knows!

I just have a feeling it is not the best time to be playing Liverpool and that you will win. I hope we can grab something though, as we need a few points; it's a very tight league.

And to be honest I don't expect any of the bottom 5 to get themselves into the top 15 for the rest of the season. Tough games every week.

Clyne says the target is top 4 or higher. Didn't know there was a league above the EPL.

Took this fact from the BBC....

    • Four of Southampton's last six goals against Liverpool have come from players who have gone on sign for the Reds: Clyne, Dejan Lovren, Rickie Lambert and Peter Crouch.

It was always likely that Sunderland, Newcastle, Aston Villa and the three promoted side would be close to the bottom, but anything above these teams is pretty even. A win would give us a nice cushion, but any points at Anfield are good ones!

I'd take a 0-0! Quiz time then, who are the other two? I definitely know one of them, but struggling with the other
