I think that Liverpool have selected four centre backs because our new manager [Southampton] plays very narrow.
David Alaba ahead of him by a lot for me. But obviously Alaba is a little bit older than him. Jesus he nearly scored there, great saves by Mignolet.
We rely on Shaw and Clyne for width and try to play intricate through balls which is tough especially when you play West Ham! End to end game now.
He's doing what he did last season. He thinks of a fabulous, new and improved, wonder tactic and then when the team self-destructs he perseveres with it until it's too obvious he has to change. HE doesn't seem to understand NOT TO CHANGE A WINNING TACTIC. If he wants to introduce something new, he has to do it slowly, over a few weeks or months. But no. Suddenly, 4 CB's, Hendo on the right. Cautious play instead of going at smashing Southampton at home. There is so much "respect" for smaller teams it's ridiculous. It gives them hope and allows them a way into the game.
Not to mention we always dance around the box and never run into it, or run through the middle. We're so predictable in these matches it hurts. If you can't score from out wide, then don't keep trying for 90 minutes. It's futile.
Well it looks like it bit too ****ing late... what a screw up with the selection. I'd be utterly dissapointed if with a draw. We can't afford to draw at home to SOUTHAMPTON!!!
We're not pressing the ball like we have been doing either, only one player goes if any. What happened to the hunting in packs approach? Credit to Southampton, they've done it to us and we've struggled as a result.
