All over. 1-0 defeat to Liverpool, woulda taken that pre-game. Not too bad. Much bigger and more important games to come.
It's not the play up top that sunk us, it was our link-up play. I cannot remember a game in which we gave the ball away so frequently and so casually just as something was developing. Never really expected to come away with anything here, but a disappointing performance nonetheless.
Ah well. Next 2 games are far more important. Villa and QPR have done us another favour today as well. United had better not **** up again later.
As much as I agree with that sentiment, I can't believe how flat that performance was... really poor.
I am not sure it is a lack of effort, maybe a lack of flexibility and lack of squad rotation. Credit to Liverpool they played a lot better than they have been.
Certainly the worst this year. Final ball, pass selection and weight of pass in the final third was dreadful all match. Surprising really considering how strong we've been in that department.
Just got in from work. Looks like Liverpool were well on top, so a 1.0 isn't too bad. Still close to those above us....bring on Reading.
Ah well, a week of recovery. Not really bothered about this game as never expected anything. Perhaps frustrating to see us be so wasteful, but if we thump Reading I'll not care a jot.
I thought Fonte and eventually Yoshida played alright against possibly the trickiest striker in the league.
Most one-sided game I've seen for ages, if Liverpool had tried they could have scored a lot more. Allen and Lucas dominated midfield, their full-backs stretched us as well, and Skrtel and Agger aerially too strong to use Lambert. Saints looked very tired and couldn't see them scoring if they'd played another 90. Need that week to recover, and need points from the next two games.
