Surprised at score as we should have had at least a goal or two with that number of shots, but not really disappointed as I didn't have this down in my possibles list*. This was more a bonus game. TBH my possibles list is every team, but Liverpool
Danny’s shot which was blocked by Shane was going in, it had already beaten Allison. I am the last person to criticise Shane Long but when you see your striking partner shaping to shoot, why would you run towards the only part of the goal he could see?
Comfortably the worst decision in our match yesterday. I don't see how anyone can argue it was anything other than a backpass. Obviously MOTD doesn't show every single incident, but from those that they did show yesterday, I saw two diabolical decisions. The challenge on Zaha which wasn't given a second yellow, and that Liverpool backpass. They are the howler category decisions that I want VAR for. However, neither incident of course falls into the four areas which VAR deals with.
If MOTD had shown all Friends biased or in compétant decisions together they would have had to double the length of the show
He was pulling the defenders away from Danny to give him the chance to pull the trigger. It was intelligent play by Shane (and recognised by the commentator on my stream). Just one of those moments...
Just to rub salt into sore wounds, just look at the penalty Kevin Friend (VAR referee) awarded to Citeh....
It occurred to me that Mr (Nobody's) Friend may have realised that he was an utter T W A T for not seeing either of the clear penalties that should have been awarded in our match (I'm still bitter, but trying to be even-handed about things), so he is now trying to make it up to the Premier League's referees' society (or similar), so that they don't tear his whistle from his still trembling lips and stamp on it, then burn his red and yellow cards in front of him. Or something. Anyway, this should mean that the next time he is appointed as ref for any of our games he'll find a reason to send off three of the opposition players while they are stiill warming up, then award us four penalties in each half, even though we don't actually leave our end of the pitch. Or he may not actually care that he was so poor when he officiated our last match.
He was even worse when he referred us vs. Liverpool a few years ago at home. Will never forget how poor he was that day. Liverpool keeper handled it outside the area, and he just ignored it
