Mane hit post and ball hit courtois and didn't go in. Salah had on saved by what was basically an upper arm. Imo we played too slow most of the game.
Yeah they were good chances which courtois deserves credit for keeping out, but we just didn't create enough.
Their keeper had the game of his life, but we did not take the chances we had and they took the first chance they had. We looked leggy and devoid of ideas. Still a good season so no complaints.
Disappointed by Salah and Mane in general tonight. Neither has created space and generally hit the first man when shooting. tbh only Konate can come away with credit

Really poor this one. Madeid playing like their neighbours Atletico but courtois won them the game in the end. Didn’t have our finishing boots on, and they scored from a fluke shot that rolled in a plate
The biggest thing for me is how we basically had no players running in the spaces between their midfield and defence to commit players. The gaps were huge to run into but all we did was pass side to side and cross from the sides. Poor tactics
Play acting and a foul with 20seconds to go apparently warrants an extra seven seconds before said freekick was taken. ****ing joke of a referee! Courtois won that for them, saved everything.
just feels like we have been running o empty for the last 6 weeks or so and we really needed to score when we were on top but we weren't clinical enough and didn't get the stroke of luck required .
We've stopped doing the real basics which is hard running. Look at how many lads with ball at feet just knocked it to a man with back to goal but in decent order rather than run the ball forward and engage someone then slip the ball in. We are not getting in and around guys any more. Trent stood no 10. Robbo not overlapping. Mane, Diaz salah. Not one got really in behind bar that touch by salah and the its brushed courtois arm. In the end its not brilliant stuff that wins games its getting in dangerous potions and we play with no forward and are always looking for someone to run in. Real have come with a plan there to defend and knock it long and when that didn't work they rode the luck and waited for a break. Trent didn't step out so it's a free shot. Simple as. Unfortunately Salah hit form at the wrong end of the season. Destroyed first half but second half of season just faded miserably. What ever reason it was, he hasn’t earned what ever contract bene demanding.
