Interesting - how did you calculate that - which matches were you thinking we were going to do poorly? Even with us losing all our games against last season's top 8 I can see us pulling in close to 30, all being as it should, 22 at worst.
2-0 head start is fine, we've got a guaranteed three from Suarez I thought we'd struggle again tonight as we really miss Sturridge at times. also thought your midfield would put ours under pressure but you seemed to sit back more than I expected. You also let Migs have the ball rather than rushing him.
Who I want in is irrelevent, I don't have access to the amount of information required to make a decision and who is available or extensive research of managers. The parameters which would mould my choice would be Foreign English Speaking In touch with a genuine passing style Managed in Europe I would probably prefer someone unknown rather than the names banded around.
Funny you should say that, I thought this place had a more level headed vibe to it lately. I don't get you Russ Martin. Nobody was looking for a point, Dave got upset about the exact same thing against Man City. NOBODY was expecting a point. 5-1 is not acceptable, paying these teams way too much respect and allowing them too much space. Baring in mind we keep hearing we are better defensively and we 3 senior memebers of staff are ex defenders I don't see why they can't see the problem. Chelsea and Arsenal were good performances I agree, but we still conceded 7 goals in those 2 games. The one thing Hughton did do was make us hard to beat last year, I think that was one of his big pros. I don't think we have maintained that this year and seem to be even worse going forward.
It is important because: 1) You are anti Hughton, you want him sacked 2) With him sacked there will be no improvement, we will just be without a manager 3) Therefore sacking Hughton won't bring about improvement, what might do so is sacking Hughton AND bringing in a new manager 4) So you can either say Hughton out and so-and-so in OR Hughton in BUT NOT Hughton out, otherwise your opinion is not constructive and I would say pointless
I agree with what you are saying, I think Man City was disgraceful etc, all I was defending about tonight was Luis Suarez made us look worse than we actually were.
Doesn't work against us. I posted on this board yesterday saying how you needed to play to get something out of the game, getting the better of what I consider to be our poor midfield and keeping us under pressure. Keep Coutinho and Suarez quiet by starving them of the ball. You didn't do any of them IMO. You tried to press in the second half but it was too little too late. TBH, I don't think it matters with Suarez in that sort of form
A draw would have been good enough, a narrow defeat may have been acceptable with a good performance. The result of this game regardless would not of changed my opinion of the manager. He's just not up to it.
Just saying that without Suarez it would have been 1 - 0 to us. Of course, whoever they had in instead might of had some influence but three of those goals Suarez scored could only have been scored by Luis Suarez. For the third time now, a world class individual performance from him has made us look terrible against Liverpool again.
Sorry, dude, but the only thing that's "pointless" is your highlighted comment above. How can you even pretend to know that for a fact - don't answer, you can't - even David McNally can't swear to that. He may well need to take a gamble really soon, though.
If it's any consolation - CH is totally fuming with the defenders. He did sound really angry on his interview.
There's no reason for me to have a solution. Are you saying you cannot see a problem unless you know the answer. People tend to look into and research these things to find the best solution. I can't make an informed decision because I don't have the information. I can however watch my team play, and make a decision that the manager is not good enough.
