Well that was horrendous. The team and fans there got swept up in the 7-0 hype and thought would just walk. Fans were awful, didn’t hear anything from them after the first 5 mins and we were lucky we didn’t throw it away. Ali prob got motm for making couple of good saves which says it al
Think the 2 CB's had a good game as well. Remember, it's not their job to score the goals. Nobody else though
has Jones touched it at lw btw. i can't recall. really really poor showing by trent szobo and salah first half and then trent salah, Jones second. diaz and nunez non existent throughout. only player with a bit of credit is probably vvd?
United the only team to stop us from scoring this season even though they were massacred on their own ground by Bournemouth.
Embarrassingly predictable performance that, much like the previous few but no heroics this time. We might be 1 point off the top, but this period of performances/results seems similar to December 2020 when we were top but the performances dried out and we had an awful january. Something has to be done to prevent a similar scenario.
That was grim. I don't know any fans that thought that though - it was all just media. Carragher said it several times "everyone expects a walkover" - he really pissed me off.
But the media will no doubt talk about how 10 man United held on for a draw... Even though it was 10 men for a minute... And that sending off used up all our stoppage time.
That was incredibly poor. The team thought they'd rock up and just win. Utd are ****e we're top of the table it will just happen. How they've suddenly got the attitude that they are world beaters after last season is beyond me. Oh, and the subs show everything about our forward line, desperate for a goal and we take off our number nine and left forward for two midfielders. Nunez might not be the greatest but diaz is ****e, best thing to happen to him was his injury, he got a completely mythical status while he wasn't playing. God I miss mane
Everyone I knew expected a walkover. My couple of united fans were saying would take a draw in heartbeat. The fans in the stadium seemed to expect a walkover tbh. They turned up under the lights, biggest crowd in 60 years and was like a library after the first 5 minutes.
But we all know the real Reason, someone put the match day thread up before the other game had even started and put all the jinxes out there
I miss Firmino as much if not more. We've had these frustrating games against low blocks under klopp in the past, and Bobby's link up play would often help to pick the lock.
I dunno if Diaz was quality when he first joined, or if he just injected some impetus into a tiring side in 2022. Either way he hasn't quite been the same player post injury.
I'm happy enough with our progression, no big drama here. Couple of clean sheets appearing. Bring on the Gooners.
