I said this yesterday when I say it.

it's a massive massive swing in the battle for 4th over both spurs and Newcastle.

Commentator said something about singing YNWA near the end as though it was because of the win - it's a bit like them being surprised because the fbs have swapped sides briefly after a corner.

It's a nice psychological advantage to have, but it rarely comes down to GD in the end.
One interesting thing about the stats is that despite it being accepted that we've defended badly all season, we've only conceded 3 more than Arsenal or City - in fact only they, Newcastle and Chelsea have conceded fewer than us.
It's not scoring enough that has let us down.
I've always said that there's a world of difference for me in winning 4-3 over 1-0. Not just because it's better entertainment, but if you're a free-scoring team there's always the feeling that you can get another at any time. The most depressing games are those where you know you could play all day and not score.

when we've been beaten we've been well beaten

    wolves
    Brighton
    Brentford
even arsenal and utd (by 1 goal)

the 0-1 v forest and west ham were just no energy

    Ooooooo
    Zen moment

think I would take the draw and the 7-0 against Real but chiefly cause I can’t stick Real either but more cause it opens up a trophy

however what if it was a 7-0 win against Real but a guaranteed loss in next round against yesterdays result ????

It never occurred to me to look at it like that at all
He kept comparing it to the 4-3
So I get where he was coming from but a trophy is a trophy

we got in deep with this - with us both playing devils advocate against each other it was proper weird

turns out only a Prem title win THIS season would be enough to eradicate the loss from his mind

    I was like - wow !

One thing is certain - yesterdays result was pretty special but only 3 points

    need to build on it

I'm guessing Villa fans will quite happily bring it up in conversation with a Liverpool fan.

This was why was slightly annoyed by th Newcastle game. We had so many chances to score 3 4 or 5 in that. And at the time, every goal was a 2 goal swing against a top 4 rival as well

I don’t think my mate was bothered about the score
Well he was but more the score and who it was that upset him. Like I say I am cup all day long but the more I sit and think about it the more I see his point
Don’t necessarily agree but defo can see the point

losing 7-2 to Villa isn’t the same as 7-0 but it isn’t Utd

cannot imagine how I would be if it was 7-0 to Utd
    Hope I never find out

I had forgotten it was against Villa. Remember it happening but not the details... It was a long time ago and largely inconsequential.

the villa result only preceded much pain watching us founder about playing cms at cb.

the high point was alisson scoring one goal that year and folk remember that more.

it'll be same for man utd fans bar us reminding them

    4-1 old Trafford
    5-0
    7-0

utd fans will go cruise the europa as there's not much left in it and won't even recall this in a few months.

it's not like spurs fans who had their one shining moment and lost 0-2 then imploded totally.. utd could have lost to us in a big knockout game like that.

    I just want to say:

For all those who were saying after Real Madrid that there is no chance we could come back from that... 7-0 against United would probably be more unexpected than 0-4 against Madrid in the second leg.

Yeah... I get it, Madrid by far the favourites, but we're still in with a chance. Never give up.

I am not so sure he will
The best of it was - he was raging
    Like proper Cro-Magnon man raging
But he didn’t know who to be mad at
Every time he settled on someone he argued with himself to counter act his own argument
    It was belting
    Been a good day
Well it hasn’t but it has on that topic lmao
