So the question for me is: Do we watch over our shoulder for City? Or is Arsenal/Chelsea the main threat? 2 points between City and Arse/Chel but normally you would say City are still the bigger threat. I guess it depends on how long City will continue the free fall before finding their feet.
I love vvd but I wish the guy would smile and enjoy himself a bit more in his interviews. I know he’s saying the right things, focus on next game but could look a bit happier about eveything
We do what VVD just said, and take it game by game, otherwise Newcastle away could end up being like after the Lord Mayor's show
Chelsea been my dark horse for last few months. They have Europe but can and are playing totally different 11 so essentially first team doing 1 game a week and they have some dangerous players up top.
City are not formidable as in previous years. We should be aware of Arsenal and Chelsea. They are both coming to Anfield.
Their record is as a flat track bully. Not very good against the top 6 so far and that's whey there's a gap. They are doing well but have a little next step to go with the defending imo
i couldn't care less about the future blah blah i'm just enjoying dicking the cheating blue mancs though a couple more goals would have been nice if i have typed that correctly i'm more sober than i thought
I think the team certainly have to do that, nothing is ever more important than the next game and they can't be distracted by anything more than winning the next game. But we as fans have the luxury to speculate and look further ahead and wonder.
The first 15 mins we were were ****ing brilliant and thay looked scared ****less and in that period we could have buried them which would have been nice . Really don't care though beat them move on and carry on winning is wan t i want
I thought the first 20 minutes Szobbo was everywhere. I knew he couldn't keep that up and was a bit fearful that we weren't more than one up when City started to come back into it after half an hour or so. We may well have struggled had City played Haaland today.
Fantastic, could’ve really thumped them today but that doesn’t matter - we had to be ruthless and get the points today and we did just that. Biggest compliment I can give Slot is that he has them playing the opposition and not the occasion, which makes all the difference. We just go about our business, trust one another and get the job done like absolute pros. Incredible start, keep it up
Szob was brilliant today reminded me of his first few months . Think the more restrained version of us helps him
I think several of us here have already made the analogy of Paisley taking over from Shankly. He's kept Klopp's passion, but he's added pragmatism and game management to the toolkit. That'll suit the likes of MacAllister, Virgil (as he's getting older), and Trent, as we don't need to forever hold that high line (though we can do it sometimes). I will always love Jurgen, but it seems we have far more variation and adaptability in this team now. My only regret is that I wish Bobby could have played in it - I think he'd have thrived even more than the other 2020 survivors.
