For their second, that pathetic tackle attempt, Skrtel would have blocked that imo, Toure falling over due to marmalade feet and Sahko bailing him out.

I can't remember the last time we actually controlled a game for large majority of the game with Lucas and Gerrard in the team.

If we really missed Skrtel, it says a lot about the state of the team.

Not having that mate - it's all about the lack of protection from the midfield. Gerrard trotting casually as per usual. Disgrace.

    We did not miss Skrtel.

Bar set pieces, we actually defended well and played from the back. All 3 centre backs did a good job.

The fact that we still conceded 2 goals shows you the importance of a proper central midfield. Not the clown show we see every week with Gerrard in it.

The team that smashed Swansea can easily challange for top 4, the team that looked lucky to not get thrashed by Leicester can easily challenge for top half.

Back at you but then again you were lucky to get a point so I suppose you're happy enough.

We should be playing 4 at the back with Lucas and Can protecting the back 4 and allowing our fullbacks to attack..

That's the problem. We have good players but Rodgers has mismanaged them all season.

The funny thing is - I bet Rodgers will look at this game and blame the defence. Skrtel and Lovren will come straight in.

Gerrard will be rested for the FA Cup and return for the league match.

Sorry but Rodgers hasn't got a clue and hasn't got any balls to manage Gerrard properly.

Right, I'm not going to blame individuals or scapegoat (as seems to be the most popular word these days on the board). Gerrard was poor, but so were many others on the pitch today. The one person I can and will blame (once more) is Rodgers. We have one of our best performances of the season and biggest winning margins playing attacking football as good as we did last season, fluid play, team working well together and all working hard...Rodgers goes and switches things up so that he, for what I can only presume to be the reason, can play Gerrard again.

I am just so ****ing tired of seeing this every week. It doesn't work and we play poorly practically every time. Fair play for the two spot kicks, but besides set pieces it really does inhibit our play and if Rodgers doesn't see that, then he's got to go. If he does see it but plays Gerrard out of sentimentality, he's got to go. If he does see it but ignores it because he's the most fantastic player he's ever worked with, he's got to go.

That was rubbish. The first penalty was never a penalty and we never controlled midfield. Gerrard's hollywood style balls on a wet pitch were never going to work, but that did not deter him.

I've said before that Lucas cannot play with another DM. You either pick him and have Gerrard high or drop him and have Hendo next to him.

Our best performance of the season v Swansea and he changes it, yet prior to that we kept the same team regardless. Gerrard will cost him his job if he doesn't sort it out soon.

Yep agreed. Lucky not be thrashed by Leicester the weakest team of the league. you'd be happy to challenge for top half? My goodness your ambition has really come down a bit.

Rodgers logic; Scrape 1-0 against Burnley-> drop Gerrard-> win 4-1 against Swansea-> bring back Gerrard change a winning team-> draw with bottom of the league.

Its that kind of thinking that gets you into the Tory party. Time to move on from Gerrard.

The only positive of the match was the defence - take out Skrtel, Lovren and Johnson and the defence look more solid and passed extremely well.
