leicester got going for what 10/15 mins? max? The difference in leicester from last year is stark.. drinkwater was excellent but the two cbs were exposed by us. we ripped them up. Stewart gave me conniptions.. that boy wanted far too long on it and was nearly robbed 2/3 times unitl that 4th goal. they just dropped the heads then. It will be interesting to see where can comes into this and which of wijnaludm or henderson or even lallana gets dropped... theres a genuine competition there. Up front sturrdige looked decent. 5 players for 3 spots by the look of things up front for us. again thats decent. At the back... jesus we are not going to have many clean sheets!
Annoyingly, we're a fully fit, focused Sahko and a proper LB away from having a proper challenge this season imo. We were missing plenty of players this game and won easily.
Thought Lallana was absolutely fantastic tonight - in that deeper role he links up the midfield and attack so well. Henderson quietly effective (lets forget his abysmal shot!). Mane quickly becoming our most important player? So much pace and directness when he plays, he's vital to our attack.
apart from Lucas' **** up they all played well today. back 4 were quite solid with Migneolet having a good game (though I'd cut out the short goal kicks if I were him) the midfield 3 bossed it and the 3 up top, well, Leicester couldn't cope with the pace and movement. great game great result
Great win. But let's not go overboard ...yet. This Leicester side may well be champions but they are really really poor. We dominated them for 80 minutes.
Was wondering the same until his sublime little pass through to Mane was ruled offside (wrongly) and reminded me of how clever and creative he is - just a case of who you take out for him and on that performance, I couldn't pick one. I guess that's only good for the team and competition for spots!
Matip was very good again today. It's a shame Sakho is a glue-sniffing court jester. I feel Sakho and Matip would make an excellent pairing. Despite Lucas playing in clown shoes for their goal, he also did very well today
As Gez mentioned, Coutinho is no longer the main man. He can still add quality but maybe he'll now have more room to operate as the opposition will be focused on Firmino and Mane.
Can't see him in the midfield three because of his fitness levels. I could see him playing in the three of a 4231; two holding players covering his lack of work rate. Edit: more likely to see him come back in on the left and Studge drop to the bench again imo
