TBF, reducing a league from 20 to 18 means four less games a season. Most teams don't play four domestic cup games, never mind in one competition. I'm with you though, I don't want to see a winter break. If anything should give it should be International games.
Don't agree but can't be arsed with that discussion. Original point was, the managers and players are paid handsomely to fulfill these games, that's where the money it's coming from. Edit; no issue with slightly bigger gaps between games (as Klopp's been saying) but don't agree with the winter break suggestion (think that's only been said on here recently though)
But half the players can’t play? Surely it defeats your whole point. Players are paid handsomely but they aren’t playing because the amount of games In short time frame. Surely if your concern is about players being paid to play, you’d want the best 11 on the pitch every week? In which case surely we need less games with longer rest periods?
With the two games postponed because Leeds and Watford have depleted squads... Liverpool vs Wolves instead? Far too simple though

We've been screwed twice in all this. Spurs got a ten day test before facing us. They were clearly fresher as a result. Leeds are there for the taking, been presented to Man City, Chelsea and Arsenal but not us? It's a conspiracy I tells you...

Frankly in shocked leeds have not pulled this stunt a week ago. And it probably is a stunt but it's a free gift to us. Leeds are no great shakes whenever this is rescheduled but now we get a decent little rest get all players ready and have a right go at the chavs who we hope will be run into the ground.
Those of you mentioning a winter break, have you forgotten that the PL introduced one a few years back (albeit not at Xmas time) ? It just got ****ed by covid and then Qatar WC for this season I believe.
I don’t have concerns with it tbh I would say being honest that I am jealous in my brain this huge machine has been set up which is the premier league - I and millions of others have bought into it and it’s an important part of our lives Those who perform in it are paid extremely well to play in it the companies who provide the money to pay them handsomely have bought into it and given money up front for the product the expectations were known from the start - anything extra has been agreed by the clubs - eg CWC. For that the clubs are recompensed - handsomely and they have taken the money the clubs are allowed to utilise their squads - which they have large amounts of none of this is new to players who signed a massive contract and do everything they can to get an even bigger one (nothing wrong with that) but then they complain when the things that made their big bumper contract converge and they have to do some extra work the way the world has gone my work load has tripled literally due to external forces - I cannot turn round and feign an injury or get myself deliberately booked so I cannot work - so I am jealous I am jealous they can get together and go do you know what these festive fixtures - I would rather have a break! So would I So would many I know footballers are already hugely privileged and they haven’t always earned it - genetics plays a massive part of it, luck plays a massive part of it so no I just don’t think what’s happening should be happening and for so many other reasons I feel I must be getting old because I think this is very typical of the generation that’s coming through- and all I can say is it’s me that is jealous I cant actually think of an analogy cause this just would not happen in the real world where I work It couldn’t all this from a postponement lmao I know I keep saying it - I need to go from this lol
Have to say I am really disappointed that the Leeds match is not on Boxing Day. Why did Leeds put out a team against Man City missing players with COVID. Spurs had a nice two week break to get ready for us because of COVID. So if you have a few injuries to your key players, call the game off. What a shambles. I would let them call the game off and forfeit the three points
