Our press lacks the conviction that the player will actually get the ball, it's more run and stop when you get there or foul. We used to give away very few fouls but I imagine we're one of the worst right now.
It's about finding that balance and clinical precision. Being urgent is no good if you urgently make the wrong decision and/or keep giving the ball away. I've said all along that we really miss Jota in those situations. Not only is he himself more clinical, but I feel that he makes the other players around him make better decisions too.
I was laughing at this very thing v utd. NEvile was riding fernes over a fux press at our cbs what meant he wasnt getitng back todefend but endo did exactly the same by running a tplayers 20 yards away who simply passed the ball on and endo never had a hope of getting near it. We were attack v defence as a result. klopps system is lose the ball, converge on the ball rapidly. 2/3/4 players will all pile towards that ball so one good pass and they ar eout of it. Thats what klopp wants. the problem comes when its not 2/3/4 players in a system but the back line is staying back and its 1 and 2 piling in and suddenly its a case of wher eis the midfield for **** sake. In reality endo is still pressing on his own foolishly and vacating his spot while his team mates are the ones who are not really doing it any more. our game looks great will all 11 do it.
He was was riding fernes over a fux press - can't you read? Fernandes over a faux press is my guess, mito keeps us on our toes.
Thing is, it's because Fernandes was running about chasing lost causes that he was in a position to latch on to Quansah's mistake.
clearly klopp felt they needed a rest. they were blowing second half v utd then had to dig deep cos they can't ****ing defend when not pushing on. Big risk taken. not that bad a side though, fingers crossed here seriously.
I'll say maybe 10mins for 2. salah and diaz are ahead in the queue. we called szobo out right though after utd. jaded.
no flags on the Kop tonight as a protest over the 2% rise in season tickets. Bearing in mind the rate of inflation it does not seem excessive, Spurs have increased by 6%. No doubt the ones protesting the most at the 2% rise will also e the ones claiming FSG do not spend enough to keep up with City.
Ticket prices should be massively slashed not increased. In still waiting for the day when one of the top clubs suddenly go, we’re going to make tickets £10 each and watch the incredible publicity they get from it and the pressure that it puts on every other club with rival fans saying if they can do it why can’t we? Needs a huge fan movement
