Substitute glass is a bit cracked up, may have to retire him. Superglue physio is checking him out but may not have results for several days.

This game was frustrating as Ox is not a false 9 or its iteration. A fit Jota/Firmino and we would have wiped the floor with this lot. Their strategy was hold on nothing else. Wd had chances to make this a respectable score but I will take the 3 points and wins in a row.
First time I've popped on today and this thread is hilarious. Villa offered nothing going forward, it was just a matter of time until we scored. Mito coukd definitely do with laying of the ale before the match kicks off. Yes it was frustrating but you won't see us more dominant than we where today.
It was stressful. Extremely stressful. Toothless and lacking penetration, it was indeed absolutely no threat to us until villa decided to play and suddenly we looked tired and disjointed
Wonder why no one pointed out that Ings shoved Matip into the ball in the incident leading to the Villa not pen - which I thought was a pen on first watch but Alison clearly got a hand on the ball Clear arm out from ings which caused the chance any way ?
Overall good game. Thought Robertson did well today. Bad game for Allison. Ox just isn't a good enough player for Liverpool. He's not a bad player overall, just not good enough for us. Ashley Young is old. Mini did well in his short appearance. Saw some grumbling in the media about the penalty. Looked a clear penalty to me and l honestly thought we could have had a couple others in that game. Villa did well. They were playing for a draw and almost got it. Dangerous game playing for a draw against us.
Yeah all we lacked was penetration. That's my new buzz word btw. Penetration. Hard and fast. That's what you want. Seriously though if you largely play in front of teams and then just dont get into the zone of most danger from the pen spot to the 6 yards spot when the ball is delivered any team will struggle. Salah starts wide and comes in but could and should have had 2 on the break at the end and jota could have had 2 as well. But where the game was tight was down to ox simply not doing it. He never penetrated mings did he?
It frustrates me to see teams that only start to play when they go a goal down, but I suppose it's the best chance most of them have of getting a result. You could see the number of breakaway chances we had to add to the score - and although we failed to convert any of them, if the game had been that open from the start I'm sure we'd have got 3 or 4.
It's the same as city games. Imo if we are attacked we can look less assured and city certainly can be stretched but sides dont want to risk a beating. They all take the 2-0 loss happily and move on.
