I think it might be slightly too late for a deal to be brokered. The club haven't stated if it has been accepted, and it will most likely cost Chelsea a pretty penny if it is.
Did see it coming however, he's lost his spot to Adam and Henderson despite being the PFA Player of the Year. We can't lose both Aquilani and Meireles can we? That would negate the strength in depth that those signings over the summer were made for... We'd be threadbare again. Seing how well he linked up with Suarez... I mean come on?

 

It's only been announced now you realise, he may have handed it in earlier today and we delayed the announcement and we're already in negotiations with Chelsea for sturridge. Lfc tv tell us this and then by 11 tell us about sturridge! Wishful thinking...

 

He's got 24 minutes to get himself a move otherwise he really has shot himself in the foot! Can't see him playing an awful lot now after showing his true colours. 3 months of sitting on the bench or even the stands until January comes along.

Eurgh, seriously can't let Meireles go. He is one of our best midfielders, this is a joke. They bid £40m for Modric, Meireles must be worth anoth £50m for us at least!

Wasn't 100% on Bellamy, but now he's signed right behind him! I can see some sense, lots of pace and still a decent player. A better back up to Suarez & Carroll than N'gog was so overall it's an improvement and £4mil profit.

Downing & Bellamy on the wings with Suarez upfront looks very pacey. Lot's of interchanging as well so could work well.

reports say a deal has been agreed but not personal terms, although thats unliikely to be a problem if he really wants to go there

 

SSN reckon a fee has been agreed and just need to agree personal terms. Hope it's for big money anything under £15mil and I'll be gutted! Sturidge and £10mil would be acceptable but we've already ripped them off once for Torres so hope we did the same with Meireles.

We shouldn't be selling Meireles without a replacement and shouldn't be selling him to Chelsea at all as far as I'm concerned. It's not the end of the world, but it's taken the shine off things for me.

 

Fee fpr miereles agreed with Chelsea - it's up to him to negotiate personal terms. If he wanted out then were better-off without him!
