You think a shopping mall is more profitable than Manchester United? The World's biggest shopping mall in the World is worth £560m The Glazers rejected a bid over over £1billion from the Qataris for United...

Oh fkn dear, malls "chains" are worth billions, like united AND all its shops tv money comp money they get outside of what they generate in business, so it is fair to compare to a chain of malls, billions of quids, not a paltry 90m loss

I mean successfully run malls, not run by the glaziers

Love the family name, suggests to us they seen you lot coming:)

All I heard there was blah blah blah. Didn't make sense. It seems to me you think the Glazers owned Walmart or something and are comparing their losses to that of a football club.

Oh and the World's most valuable football club..

The amount of profit you make - indeed on the rare occasions you DO make a profit, is totally eclipsed by very average high street companies, let alone the combined operation of an entire shopping mall.

I can't believe you're deluded enough to think you're even remotely competitive even within Greater Manchester, let alone the wider economic markets.

This might come as a shock to your system but - THERE IS LITTLE OR NO MONEY TO BE MADE FROM RUNNING A FOOTBALL CLUB

    Just a few latest results:

Jaguar Land Rover - profits exceed £1 billion
    Eurotunnel - profits £617 million
Headlam Flooring - ever heard of them? Profits of £5 million
New Look clothing - profits of £98 Million.

New Look could EAT Man Utd with their petty cash

The "My dad's -oops, sorry. My club's bigger than yours" jibe has always seemed pointless to me. Real football supporters choose their allegience when they're young according to family influences or geographical proximity to a club. To just pick whoever is most successful at the time is glory -hunting.
The size of the club is immaterial. Would you mock supporters of say Cheltenham or Oxford because they are "little" clubs? They are true supporters.
KingEric- What do you mean by big? If we're talking about fiscal value, or current success, then clearly Utd are ahead of Liverpool at the moment. If we're talking about global awareness that's more subjective- although my guess is Utd are ahead on that also.
    But so what?
I'm a Liverpool supporter because I was born and raised nearby, and I'd support them 'til I die even if they were in League Two.

this sounds rather childish... when i was in school i sat with mates at lunch and listened to guys hammer on about ut dbeing the biggest club in the wolrd and this was back in the 80s...

the question you lot must ask is are you still this immature? or are you just doing it to be back in your days of youth?

    Evening,

You misundertand the point of the question. Is wasn't why do you support your club. Its just KPR said Liverpool are a bigger Club and it just got me thinking thats all ?

I would never mock 'little clubs' as these clubs may be little in other people eyes but are the biggest club in the world to them.

It was just a simple question fo opinions not a chance to try and point score. If you think thats why I post on here you obviously haven't read my posts <ok>

Wouldn't expect you to see it any other way. It doesn't go on and on, Liverpool are more successfull overall even though United had a free run at the records for 20+ years:) So really until Fergie took over the United fan was most endurng and this explains the fever they now suffer having almost equalled Liverpool's greatness

What exactly is immature about it ? Debating the pro's and con's of rivals isn't immature. As I said it isn't point scoring it's just debate and without it the forum would be poor.

You can't use the forbes list as evidance as club valuation

Hicks & Gillette tried that and it got laughed out of court

The biggest club in the world, finances is a bollox way of doing it for sure.

Who has most fans in the world is the only real way to decide who is the biggest club by definition, members of the club determines its size. I think it may be just that simple, and this rules out English clubs, Real have more fans in spain than United do in Europe surely
