You are well out in your suspicions. In English football I have 4 including my wife's teams. One of the latter is Liverpool. Guess who I supported in the clash today?
it's partly a religious thing Cracovia are a catholic team, theres being killings between them and Wisla Krakow, fights breaking out even when the teams aren't playing, knives/weapons are common....elsewhere in Poland more fair rules are generally applied.
Of course. They had a draw against Chorley but were robbed. Wife is not happy! Promotion chances slipping away.
I didn't know Mrs BMB is a Liverpool fan BMB. My wife is a Liverpool girl. Shes very unhappy right now . She's a screamer so I can't watch in the same room. Today makes up for that 5-goal debacle under Phelan.
Darlo is my second team. I moved from Hull to Hurworth (now home of Boro's Rockliffe training ground) when I was 13. Darlington is about 3 miles away and to be honest, I've probably watched more Quaker's games than City's but they rate a distant second in my esteem.
She's a screamer ... lucky you! The lads at work got me a sweater for my birthday but I would have preferred a screamer. Da dum!
Her dad was a pilot in WW2 who died in 1942 in an operation over the Med flying a Swordfish torpedo bomber when her mum was 7 months pregnant. His body was never recovered They met during his RAF pilot training in Chester in the 30's, he having come from Hong Kong and started following Liverpool. So in memory of her dad she follows their fortunes although she has never been to see them.
And that's where the arguments about who anyone 'should' support start to fall down isn't it? People move around until they find home somewhere and stay. They'll probably support the team from wherever they were when they got into football, but what about their kids? Their grandkids? Hull has a fair proportion of immigrants, both national and international, and as is apparent from this board's many and varied contributors there are also plenty of people who've been brought up here and left. I have a colleague who's been going to City for 30-odd years through thick and thin (although he is currently boycotting) and he's a Fulham fan. Missing the buzz of live football he used to go on his own when he first moved here and when they were old enough he started taking his kids because he wanted them to share his love of it. They are City fans. I am sure there'll be people reading this who think he's a turncoat and should have brought them up as Fulham fans. But logistically and economically unable to take them to Fulham games he'd rather they 'properly' supported a football team than remotely keeping an eye on Fulham's results whilst never having seen them and not really understanding what the beautiful game's all about in real life rather than on the telly. Now he loves City and frequently wears a City scarf at this time of year, but if we play Fulham he only wants one outcome. And whenever he shuffles off this mortal coil I suspect his kids will keep an eye out for Fulham's results in memory of their old dad. Suggesting that this would make them less of a City fan seems daft to me.
Used to sit on that second row and give people disgusted looks as they asked to get past to take a picture, shame I can't anymore.
Me and my lad were laughing at the amount of people wearing half & half scarves with the red on show & the Amber tucked inside their coats!
The 4 seats next to me in w5 were vacated last season due to a family being able to save £1000 by moving to the East. These are not for sale this season and are usually taken up by scouts from other clubs. Yesterday miraculously there were 4 Liverpool supporters in them. Some dodgy dealings going on.
That has to be the most pitiful forlorn rendering of YNWA ever heard yesterday at the 90th minute. In fact only a few scarves held aloft and a couple of dozen people murmuring it. Whistling and booing not needed. So like everyone else really , loud and proud when the scores are going right, quite and subdued when they're not. You'd think these glory hunting goons would have wised up by now after 4 defeats in a row at the KCOM. Hull is not a happy hunting ground for you, and your glory hunting fans are despised. As has been said elsewhere on here, tomorrow will be a fun day at work.
