Really? I’d be shocked if pre season tickets were on sale before the end of last season, especially as the fa cup was a few weeks before season ended, and we looked like we might be in with chance of winning league.
It was only arranged after the other tour games. I think we all knew it'd be team b. The reason it was strazbourg was specifically because we thought it would be team b. First goal was konate on flight of ball and a very inexperienced error by mayaba. Second was a real awful never do that mistake. Third was milner and poor from keeper. They worked at it though. It tells us a few things about squad depth and also who's ready or not. Elliott worked hard, never ever a right forward. Play him rcm all day. Konate won't start season as first choice, level has been way off imo. We lack depth up top. 3 left and 2 came in. One injury and we are into the kids and its not there. A good workout but I'd be disappointed for kids going to that game as for a lot they won't see lfc live til next season.
I've checked - the release date of when and where the Charity Shield was being played was within days of the release of ticket sales for Strasbourg, so not that unreasonable for fans to think that some or most first team would be playing.
not really because they would know we were in the Charity Shield and it really wasn't difficult to predict the when it would be played .
True. I think the prospect of a home preseason game with children going free would be attractive to a lot of people without necessarily even thinking about who would be playing. I expected a few more on the bench tbh.
