  1. I agree with Jimmy, at least one of Agger and Skrtel will go.

I would definitely keep Agger because he is a player who brings the best out of others. He's been involved in 6 out of the 8 clean sheets we've had this season and that's not by coincidence.

However, Sakho is the starter at LCB and we're simply not in a position to have players on big wages sitting on the bench. And plus, Agger is a very good player and a loyal servant to LFC and I hope he gets a big move where he will get regular games because that's what he deserves.

  3. Keep seeing you put Sakho and Agger in direct competition with each other, why couldn't they be a partnership?

Before you mention the left feet, two right footers have been paired together many times without issue.

There are far more right footed players in the world. As a result, a partnership of 2 right footed defenders are far more common and right footed players get used to playing on the left hand side.

You rarely see 2 left footed defenders playing together because they normally get to play in their preferred position (LCB).

As we saw with Toure, it's not as easy just switching sides. You need to completely re-adjust.

Both Agger and Sakho have played their entire careers as LCB and moving one to RCB wouldn't be that simple. Would I like to try it? Definitely. But in practicality, I don't see it working.

i think personally guys the question must be who wants what.

johnson MIGHT take a pay cut for CL. might not. LFC might want him. might not.

Agger might JUST want first team games or he could want CL with us.

    Who knows.

I think assaidi and aspas HAVE to go surely. after that its anyone's guess

I keep reading that we can't afford to keep high-wage players on the bench.
I agree with that, at least up until now, but it's a problem we're going to have to do something about, because running a PL and CL campaign without greater squad depth will be really difficult.
As I've said before, I'm not a huge fan of the "tired" players excuse, but injuries are bound to occur, and we will struggle if we get too many.
It's a problem that I don't see a simple fix for- getting CL will make us more attractive to top players, and the extra money it brings will go towards paying for them, but trying to compete with the sugar-daddy clubs of England and Europe will still be beyond us in the immediate future.

I agree but when I think of high earns sitting on the bench, I'm thinking of players that don't deserve to be high earners. Say for example someone of Coutinho's quality wasn't first choice and he was a high earner on the bench then that's fine, but someone of say Skrtel or Johnson's quality begin a high earner on the bench isn't ideal.

Would like Shaw but think he's heading to Chelsea/United...

Midfield we need someone who can dominate physically and retain control... M'Vila? Plus a ball playing midfielder because Stevie will physically tire. Rakitic?

    Add Kono/a winger...

Wisdom, Borini, Suso, McLaughlin, Ilori, Ibe all coming back and can add to the squad or bench.

shaw is a chav, he will go there. and vanish..... bertrand should be available but i am just wondering about his ambition right now

m'vila is out. rodgers said so didn't he? RHC said something about his mate asking and being told one nutter is enough. He's gone backwards too boot.

Rakitic is a brilliant player. absolutely brilliant so he'd be my no 1 choice.... he's not ball winning though he's a playmaker

Konoplyanka is a whatever... i can't tell until we see him.

Wisdom and suso and ilori (if he's actually anygood and the raving has stopped) will come back and add potential young options but i feel that there's another level above that needed.

I think we need about 6 players. borini? doing ok... we'll see. aspas, hopeless, moses hopeless, cissohko hopeless, clear gap in CM too. thats 5 before we start!

Shouldn't get ahead of ourselves eh? The job is not done.

I think United will be a pain in the arse come summer with their 200 million pounds kitty. They will want to strengthen in areas similar to ours. Mvila, shaw, kono, fernando, montoya etc could easily become primary targets of theirs.

United will offer more for a player than FSG will be willing too, because of their greater desperation, financial might, and more accomodating trasfer policy. Therefore I suggest we manage our negotiation timing with them in mind and play it smart. We shouldn't overpay for players flirting heavily with United. "LFC in the CL" should be sufficient stimulation for the players we go after.
