Did you know that Wednesday used to be known as Welsh Day in Liverpool as trains and coaches were packed with people avoiding half day closing in Wales
Swansea & Cardiff were both bombed. I think very few places that had docks or industry got off scot free.
I have heard of Welsh day.I have actually heard of Liverpool being described as the capital of North Wales
The buildings are older but Broagreen was open first. That's interesting because I would have though Edge Hill or Lime Street would have been opened first.
It was the most heavily bombed city outside of London. Terrible destruction in the whole city, buildings and homes left as rubble, thousands made homeless. Horrible memory as you say.
Thursday was Welsh day dave, the shops in Wales had half day closing on Thursday and Wednesday was half day closing in Liverpool.
